Those who got Narc'd power down, the others run off the little buggers while the Narc timer wears off.

Doesn't the NARC still Ping if I shut down? ;)

I still wish we had the narc version that directs ENEMY missiles to a target of choice.

I've seen (and my 4 man at the time) people shutting down and NARC stopping it's broadcast.

I haven't personally tried it, since even when I get NARC'd, I some how manage to be in or very near cover.

The Status Quo is still that practically nobody mounts AMS, but they still all come to the forums to whine about LRMs. They just keep trying it from a different angle ( in this case "Narc is OP") becasue they get shot down regularly by people that actually play the game and not just a glorified version of Duck Hunt.

The bottom line is that they`re not even trying to adapt, and therefore forfeit their right to be taken seriously.

LRMS have never been good against good players, they only work AT ALL against bads and people that make stupid mistakes. They are still effectively this game`s n00b filter and nothing else.

So, if you`re incessantly whining about the n00b filter, what does that tell everyone else about you? ;)

NARC ignores power-down, since it sends it's own tracking signal.

You get in cover, or you die. Being Caustic, "die" is the usual result.

Amusingly enough, standard NARCs don't fire Nemesis pods. That's the second-generation Improved NARC system, circa 3062.

Read a Post where a shutdown cancelled Narc. unless it was a bug and got fixed.

Will get a friend and go to the training grounds and test that. That seems to be HOW it should work. ;)

If there's one thing I look forward to in 3/3/3/3, its that you can guarantee you'll have something that can deal with those other lights. There's just too many heavies and assaults in most matches, which can go badly in one way (attrition) or another (immobility).

I'm not so sure to be honest.

I've had plenty of matches where my own team's lights and mediums were running around playing rambo shooting slow, easy to hit targets while their own Assaults were being circle strafed & leg humped by opposing lights.

Even worse is when 3/3/3/3 comes and your team has the locusts/commandos, while the other team has the Embers/Jenners/ECM Spider or Ravens.

3/3/3/3: not all mechs of a weight class are created equal.

Try a SHD with tag in the high mount, jjs and target decay. You'd be surprised how effective it is (maybe the meta is just getting people too comfortable). Not the optimal build obviously, but it isn't only good against bads by any means.

I run this build a lot, it gets rolled by competent meta teams.

Which I unfortunatley run into a lot when I run with certain pre-made groups.

When I said certain, I meant when I run with the other CI guys, when you are in the group our ELO seems to dip! (Sorry you walked into that one)

I see how it is. Pressing "R" now always targets Nicholas Carlyle!

That seems to be the case, sometimes I think people recognize me from the boards and try to kill me. I know Livewyr did.

That's why I like to drop with Roadbeer. It's better than ECM; it's like I am invisible. :)
