People who are thinking of spending more money on MWO should continue to do so...

it helps keep the franchise up and running while I put the hold on spending any more myself till things improve.

1. Two Maps in the woodwork at the moment: 1 is a new world design (Codename Jungle) and the other is to compliment the upcoming Attack/Defend mode (Codename Base)
2. Hit Reg fixes in the woodwork, especially going to affect SRMs.
3. We're a F2P online multiplayer, there is never supposed to be "an end" :)
4. Feel free to specify, (and the same goes for Balance) which prices seem too high.
5. Our license has been extended up to mid-2018 with an additional 2 years if criteria are met, so we hope to have at least 4-6 years of fun, if not more if this license extends once more.

when you tell something about the clan technologies? I bought a pack clan, but I want to know what I bought - the parameters of weapons that is a targeting computer, laser AMS, cssrm4-6, cuac2-10-20, cerppc, clan er and pulse lasers and etc?

If it helps anyone, the rule I use to make game purchases (full retail, F2P and everything in between) is will I/did I get, at minimum, 1 hour of satisfying gameplay per $1 spent.

I have far exceed this for MWO.

That said, I haven't gotten into the Clans yet because I learned my lesson with Phoenix. I have two medallions in my inventory right now that are supposed to gain extra Loyalty Points, but I have no idea what that means. I need far more info on the Clans than we currently have to make an informed decision.

When I bought my Phoenix packages, I based it strictly on the cost per mech. There was all sorts of premium time and medallion bonuses, but what it came down to was that I got 12 mechs for $110, or just under $10 a piece. That was a fair price to me. Everything else was just bennies.

Leave weapons alone, their fine, Fix the hit reg and where good to go.

I terribly disagree.

LRMs are 'worthless but annoying'. Yes over time they're good and NARC has pushed them near overpowered territory. But if we double their damage (make them worth something) and double the reload time (cutting away spam and requiring a little more skill in placement and timing to fire) we can make them viable to the point that they won't have to be boated (and in fact detrimental to boating since in the case of LRM-20s it'd be 9.5 seconds to fire again [for 44 damage when/if it does hit]).

Spoiler

ACs completely overpower all other weapons. Aside from shooting faster and pumping the damage quicker AND being colder than all other weapons, they cause all other weapons to lose accuracy from 'impulse' or impacts.
Lasers large and large pulse do slightly above and below 30 damage in 10 seconds; PPCs do 30 in 8, AC/20 does 60 in 8, but Gauss Rifle only does 45 in 10.25 seconds assuming you always fire perfectly.
But Clan ER PPCs will do 45 in 8 seconds. And they won't fail to fire.

Currently LRM-5 fires every 3.25 seconds. That's faster than streaks fire, for more damage than streaks deal, and Clan LRM-5s are lighter than Streaks, too. Even with a 75 meter minimum range, unless the double-double scenario happens for LRMs, the new boat for Clan Mechs will be a fast mech with 6 to 8 LRM-5s packed in and used as if streaks; even more devastating is that they only aim CT anymore.

If you cannot justify a purchase based on what the game is now, don't do it.

I've spent over $1,200 on this game, and I will continue to spend money on it until I no longer like the game. I would have spent the money on other games that I may or may not have liked anyway. To me, it's been well worth it.

Clan packs are for:

- People who want to bypass the C-Bill grind
- Get some extra trinkets and Premium TIme
- Get a chassis they like that also comes with a Hero Bonus
- Just like the extra geometry stuff

Pick which one you think they are.

I was 1-3 and picked the Thor (favorite Heavy) but the I love the Stormcrow as well but not sure I wanted to put the extra $$$ in.

So, PGI, convince me to buy a clan pack...

I have been considering buying the Daishi (Dire Wolf) pack for $120 USD or just an A La Carta Daishi (Dire Wolf) by itself for $55 USD though I am having quite abit of trouble justifying the expense to myself considering the lack of content generation in the game.

Some of the primary reasons that I am having trouble justifying the expense are:

1.Lack of content existing and being produced for the game (maps, etc).
2.Unable to balance weapons and when an attempt is made it horribly misses the mark...
3.Game seems to be nothing but a slow enternal grind with no real end in sight.
4.The prices are a little on the ridiculously high side of things.
5.Will this game even be around in a years time/sustainable with how things are going?

I am sure there are other reasons but I'm sleepy :)

More like don't buy the clan pack we go belly up and take mechwarrior with us down for 2 decades.

Even tho I have bitched and moaned along the way since closed beta I still have fun with this game and as a light mech fanatic I just "might" go for the Uller collection for $30 if the sun starts shining before the sale ends (assume its before june 17th) and If so I would most likely want to get the Puma Collection as well.

Main problem the A Le Carte options. It is $55 for the standalone Puma or $100 for the Uller/Puma bundle. That still seems a little crazy to me when the Uller collection itself is only advertised at $30 or I could just make 2 separate payments.

So that is
  • Buy the Uller for $30
  • Buy the Puma for $55
  • Buy the Uller and Puma for $100 via A La Carte??? Why does this price exist.
  • Combine options 1 and 2 and pay $85
I know it makes perfect sense to market the fan favorites (eg the Masakari and Mad Cat) at a higher price for more profit and I dont actually Blame PGI for doing this as everyone is obsessed with the Mad Cat around here but Honestly if everything was just $30 each and people could pick what they want I have a feeling that sales would have through the roof compared to what they are now.

Also still no 12v12 Urbie mode?? Shame on you!

So that people could get the Warhawk and Timberwolf (two of the more heavily desired chassis) for less than $210/$240.

Whelp - apparently some of the Dev's have been swayed into the Urbie love by the Urbie fan-threads - so that one (probably) just requires the overhaul of the engines. (I hope!) :)

Edit: other option (though more expensive) grab the Puma/Adder pack for $150.
Yes it grabs you two unwanted mechs - but back in Mech2 the Nova played a lot like a light mech. :)
(edited edit: not much help - sorry)

We can only hope, 12v12 Urbies would revive River City.

That is an idea but to me that would be wasting money on a heavy and Assault I am not trying to get.

You got to ask yourself one question, is there enough in it for me? if you don´t have the patience and are too young a jedi to wait a few months more and save your money for something that might actually improve your life, then go ahead - make their day.

IMO Prices are still in the insane range - whoever decided to make even the tiniest virtual piece of scrap as expensive as each of it is, will burn in HELL. I may be an atheist but i am also very sure about that! :)

If your father is Richy Rich though, don´t even bother to ask/post a question like this and buy every pack there is and every hero mech and all the cockpit lanterns and lava lamps and toasters you can find and stuff it all up... somewhere. Do not complain if it hurts, it´s only virtual :)

You know, I'm completely willing to throw down $240. I want to. I want PGI to take my money. It would have been done already, but they just don't care to enlighten me about what, exactly, my money is going to buy. Oh, sure, we have vague notions of what the mechs are going to be, but seriously, has anything related to the clan mechs, their loadouts, their variants, or customization been released officially anywhere?

Its almost like they're telling me not to spend my money with them, as close-lipped as they've been.

I'll consider buying a clan package the moment I can see all the variants and weapons on Smurfy's, so I know exactly what I'm getting.

Exactly! I have the money, it's not a big thing to blow $240 on a game I'll be playing for many hours.

But I have this problem...I don't buy things sight unseen. I want technical readouts on each mech in the collection, which weapon pod configurations we'll be able to put on it, and whether or not we can customize the weapon pods.

Otherwise, I'd be happy if PGI can just tell me which variant is going to have jumpjets, erppcs, and autocannons, so I can skip all the others. :)

There is a Catch-22 here.

If you keep giving them money to support the game, then they think everything is hunky dory and positive changes might not happen or be completely overlooked/ignored.

If you don't, then they start to wonder what they're doing wrong and try to make even bigger cash grabs, which people will see right through, eventually resulting in the game folding.

This. Its give and take. We gave them plenty of money already. Its time for them to give us something back. Then maybe ill consider spending more money.
