Even more of the "It's been 2 years and it still isn't finished thing" in the forums. I think the question that needs to be asked AGAIN, is this "How long do you think your biggest supporters will wait?". I even see the White Knights having to buff out the paint and repair the rust damage and holes in their Armor. Oh the humanity... :) It's been a long time coming, we'll see how this THING pans out.

MechWarrior and Battletech are registered trade-marks of Microsoft Corporation.

I believe Topps owns the name, Battletech since 2003. You might want to check?

So, no true DHS, Ghost Heat is here to stay and Medium Lasers are still going to run too hot?

For clarification:
MechWarrior is video game series set in the BattleTech universe.
Hence why MechWarrior Online is labelled as: A BattleTech Game.

The addition of this now is merely to resolve the outstanding issue that it hadn't been labelled as such before.
As many are aware, the games have a deeply symbiotic relationship for many players beyond simply being different franchise spin-offs. They are entirely different and lasting perspectives at involving players in the BT Universe.

Sorry to appear to be trolling, but what universe? Is it the one with Dragon silhouettes from 90 days after launch? Because, "I ain't playin' in dat, yo."

As I pointed out earlier, the word "universe" is meant as a body of work within an intellectual property not a "universe" in the cosmological sense.

MWO needs to evolve to a degree, no argument there at all. More importantly it needs to INVOLVE every player on a somewhat true to form and balanced presentation in a way resembling BattleTech in a sincere fashion, and also resembling the implied manner in which it was ORIGINALLY presented by it's makers (PGI), and come close to meeting ANNOUNCED deadlines and perceived promises, considered such as they were stated to the player base by the developers of MWO. Not ONE issue in development can be BLAMED on the player base, they do not write the code, they do not do any design. Any and all praise or blame rests squarely on the shoulders of those that are the creators/developers/designers of MWO, and NO other place else. One does not blame the eater of a sandwich if the sandwich is stale and has moldy cheese on said sandwich, you can only blame the preparer for using stale bread and moldy cheese.

thats funny because i have the actual mechwarrior game that predates the video games, and while none of the mechwarrior videogames really resemble the bt universe that well, this game is in a totally different dimension from battletech and mechwarrior. this game is closer to being in the armored core universe than the battletech universe.

had to add mechwarrior to the videogames because if i remember correctly the original bt computer games were pretty good, i think they were cresent hawks or something like that

If memory serves the original mechwarrior battle tech expansion book focused on the mech pilot. Gear clothes, more details about the houses and also other facets of the BT universe. It was a very high quality book that i had a chance to get a good look at. All the versions i have seen on the web so far of the mechwarrior expansion book have not been orignal.

So I agree that most of the video games have not done the original mechwarrior expansion much justice, and this game especially, until they add the ability to have a custom pilot.

The previous UI had a place holder for the pilot picture but this UI does not. Not sure what that means, but i hope that in the future they expand on the mechwarrior side of BT alot more than they have so far. This is called Mechwarrior Online after all.

Nikolai, you know what else is part of Battletech - the AWESOME firing 3 ERPPC's without exploding from a mechanic called Ghost Heat which is not Battletech.

it was much more than that. it is full of info on how just about everything worked in the battletech universe, from how mechs were used/deployed, details on the economy, cockpit layouts, different neurohelms, cutaway views of omnipods and clan mechs to how travel worked and how to calculate travel time not only between jump points, but from jump points to the planet you were traveling to(and how the different planets are classified). it even has illustrations of the field and dress uniforms of all of the factions. the historical overview goes up to the 15 year truce. it has way too much information to list there tho.

Nobody does play Hawken, Titanfall lost more than 50% from its release peak in less than a month, soon MWO will be the King again...a naked King probably but nonetheless a King.

I still have mine. First Ed, pre-Clan Btech still the best Btech.

Citations needed on both claims.

I for one am too busy playing George of the Jungle to bother much.

Only thing I noticed is that PGI is looking for a new Lead Gameplay Engineer. A role that is desperately needed.
