Beautiful comparison set, Jin Ma!

I would agree with that. Definitely interesting to see the perspectives lined up.

'Good' or not, Kit Fox will be my first clan mechs to drop with.

Ah, but could you mean an extra heatsink? Yen Lo had the same issue, but more armor was used.

They could fill out tonnage another way, either ammo or armor.

It'll make getting a screenshot of other mechs in that area that much quicker.

I have no idea what grid square that it - but it is on the opposite side of the mountain from where I usually start - the non-bay part >.<

Wound up jumping up there once in a Jenner to hide from a Cataphract.
I remember thinking "oooh! parking garage!" but that is about it. :)

Edit: though looking at the lighting I could very easily be wrong. :(

I have a rough idea that the Camera faces Theta from the docks, but then that implies either the docks which it certainly can't be (too many cars, I've never seen that many on the docks or the platform above it) or on top of a building...which has me asking "jumpjets?"

Well it's the parking lot on the top level of the two-tier area on Crimson Straight? The top level is not that large, should not be hard to find that precise configuration of cars. There are very few red cars iirc.

I have found a couple of odd places in Crimson.

DAGNABBIT - THIS more than anything else is making me want to log in - when you find out where.....

TELL ME. :)

And a couple of the Kitfox variants have JJ - but not many, and mostly latter ones. :(

1. If they give this mech curvy right arm why not madcat?
2. I can see the adders legs, blackjacks belt and stormcrows arm.. ...just saying.

All this aside, it is a nice looking mech.. ..matches up well to the concept art and the actual design of the mech - gw pgi :)

Actually had to get the commando to move.
His foot was inside the red car.

Made a good boot.

The missile launcher is a bit longer. But that makes sense when you consider the concept art doesn't take into account that missiles are exactly that length, leaving no room for the whole reloading process. o.O; It's one of the few times where I won't complain about it.

IF I am measuring right - that puts the Kit Fox at about the height of the Locust and Commando
(really not good at that though)

And it still made it out of there without a scratch. Now that is Auto repair. (Pun intended.) :)

MMmm, but it has A-Pods as well, according to Sarna.

PGI mentioned in their design document that with their Omnipod system of swappable arms and torsos they have the ability to sell players arms and torsos from different variants without having to sell the whole variant.

Which allows the C arm to be possible for the Kit Fox and avoid such issues, but unavoidable for the Hellbringer as its Prime variant has A-Pods. And it's almost blasphemy to sell an Omnimech without the Prime variant unless they do what they did with the Wang and simply rip out the unsupportable equipment and exchange them for other things. I guess we'll have to see in December after all the initial 8 (of 16) Clan Omnimechs are released for C-bills.

Also, I double-checked the available slots for the Kit Fox using my TT program. I threw in the basic tonnage/crit stats of the available Clan ballistic weapons for comparison.

cUAC2
5 tons 2 crits

cLBX2
5 tons 3 crits

cUAC5
7 tons 3 crits

cLBX5
7 tons 4 crits

cUAC10
10 tons 4 crits

cLBX10
10 tons 5 crits

cUAC20
12 tons 8 crits

cLBX20
12 tons 9 crits

Gauss Rifle
12 tons 6 crits

(for completeness)
Machine Gun
.25 tons 1 crit

Right Arm
8 slots Max (some have 6 but the lower arm and hand actuators can be removed adding 2 more)

Minimum Hardpoints (can be more but not expected)
Prime - 1B 1M
A - 1B
B - 1B 1M
C - 1E 3AMS ECM
D - 2M

Left Arm
8 slots Max (all have 6 but the lower arm and hand actuators can be removed adding 2 more)

Minimum Hardpoints (can be more but not expected)
Prime - 2E
A - 2E
B - 2E
C - 2B 2E
D - 2M

No other location on the Kit Fox can mount weapons so they have been skipped.

So really, the only big ballistic this mech wouldn't be able to carry at all is the cLBX20. Ultra 20 with ECM and 2 tons of ammo and a ERML is possible and scary. Dual 5 or 2 combos are possible with dual 2 combos granting dual ERML backup (or ERML/ECM) and 4 tons of ammo. Dual Streak 6s with 3 tons of ammo an ERPPC and ECM is also possible and nasty. Heck, it can even do 3cERLL (4 tons x 3) ECM and 3 extra DHS. Wouldn't that be annoying? :(

By comparison the Adder has 9 available slots in the arms and a single ballistic right and left arm (D and B variants respectively) so it would be able to carry a cLBX20, but it has no variants with ECM.

Of special note, if the locations of ES/FF are kept, out of all the initial Clan light mechs (Kit Fox, Adder, Fire Moth, Mist Lynx) it has the unique ability to mount double heatsinks in the legs, which might be a helpful perk on maps with water. :)

Aw, it's the Kit Fox! :( I'm going to have so much fun with this one, I can almost feel it now! (I got used to the slower speed in my Slowmando, so the extra firepower should be a nice touch)

PS: No, Domonkey, I will NOT buy a gold Kit Fox. :)
