soooo, does that mean we cant make them the way WE want? Like I'll be stuck with a preset as opposed to a Twin ER Laser, ECM running machine?

For this game, think of the different configurations as being sort of like the different chassis variants of the mechs we have now. Each one starts with different equipment, but also different hardpoints. You can swap out whatever weapons it starts with for different ones, based on the hardpoints that come with that version.

Unlike the mechs we have now, though, Clan mechs will be able to swap hardpoints between mech versions. Imagine if you liked the ECM Raven, but didn't like the weapons hardpoints. If it were a Clan mech, you'd be able to swap the weapon hardpoints, and then put in the weapons you want.

This camo that they have been showing off on the Clan Mechs looks awesome.

Has there been a pic of the Timberwolf from 6 angles like the other Clan Mechs? If not can we get one?

Dayum that looks cool! But my excitement for the Nova still burns within me...

Good news everybody! Probably the next mech to be released pictures of. So, what, hopefully next week some time? I absolutely look forward to using Novas in Nova Cat trials.

And more importantly, in the Hexa-Nova-Nova-Totem.

Oh yes. It will happen.

Good job, PGI! It's almost flawless little blocky 30t cutie. Dat torso twists... I understand that in realities of MWO missing torso twist would be a death sentence, so I can forgive you that)) Strange, on concept art I liked pre-order version, but on screenshots the angular "face" of regular version smiles me more, waiting for August then.

The most important thing (Nico, Karl, whoever in PGI bothers to read forums, please note this plead):
We need information about OmniMechs Configurations planned for release.

Yeah, nice Light Mech and it looks great !
It will be interesting to see how it competes with other "great" light Mechs as the JR7-F Jenner with 6 x Med Laser.

Well I have to say the PGI's designers did a superb job on the model. It really looks great!

However, it is not a Kit Fox. Kit Foxes are not capable of torso twist.

Glad they went with torso twist for the mechs that traditionally did not have that ability. It would be a brutal disadvantage in this game.

I dunno. It definitely would be on the 'mechs that only have one degree of freedom in their arms. The right arm on this thing looks like it can move laterally, which would allow you to aim the ballistic + SRMs at targets off of your bearing.

Part of me thinks that would be pretty cool, especially with such a wide open, unobstructed view from the cockpit.

I actually used to love Nova's in MW2 and MW3
I'd use the jump jets to maneuver around and didn't miss torso twist at all.

One the most challenging MW2 memories I have is the Trial of Position in a Kit Fox, but I did manage to beat all three opponents!

Yeah, but back in MW2 the jump jet system was fully thrust vectored. We do not have that luxury anymore.

If they do what's planned this mech is going to be a death sentence whether or not it has torso twist. It's a 30 tonner that moves as fast as a Dragon... And people are talking about putting LB20x and what not inside LOL. Both the light mechs they released are going to be utter garbage compared to existing light mechs, the only thing that will keep them afloat is if clan tech is going to be exclusive for them AND if clan tech is going to be as broken as in the lore compared to original tech. And even so a 6-5ML 150kph Jenner is still going to **** all over these guys. Just sayin.

Spoiler

.. and carries more weaponry per ton as fully upgraded Dragon can, you forgot to mention. Anyway, it's not always about numbers (speed, hardpoints, whatever), it usually about what's between your ears. Rational thinking wins the games (even some PUGs). With such radical and one-sided attitude you miss the whole game. As for LBX20 - RVN-4X with AC20 is actually quite good for me, so I don't see why LBX20 would be worse. 150 km/h Jenner just dies last.

Think of it as a medium that legally qualifies as a light and translate it into 3+3+3+3 matchmaking formula. Death sentence, yes indeed. And no, the LB 20-X will not fit, but the HAG 20 will.

LBX20 - 12t 8 critical clots - fits perfectly (RA has 8 free slots)
LBX ammo -solid slug - 2t
LBX ammo -cluster munition - 1t
2xER Small Laser - 1t
_________
16t of pod space, 1 ballistic + 2 energy hardpoints used

Actually a size limitation I forgot about. Physically the lbx20 is larger than the uac20 by one crit.

Can you guys please show off the Dire Wolf next?

Judging by the current pattern, I'm guessing that the Nova is next, followed by the Daishi being last.

Once again completely blown away by the art team..... Now, please tell me you're putting alt config C into the game, that pod replaces the ballistics arm so it should be fine right? I really want a triple AMS mech

True - and I highly highly doubt it will not be able to mount a PPC (or CERPPC as the case may be)

However -that could severely limit bulkier weapons such as the ballistics.

Of note though is the fact that OmniMechs could add/remove arm actuators to fit mission specific needs, so there is that.
