I did not buy a clan pack because $240 should buy all the content of 4 AAA titles. Not some of the content which on top you need to pay monthly subscription (for private matches) and continue to buy other mechs too. That and they only have one game mode.

I'm going to wait and see if clans are op , if they are some will love it and abuse , most will go inactive till balanced, the only people playing will be the abusers, meaning nothings getting abused I guess if the only other people playing are also abusing.

Comes with a full set (masterable) of each weight class:
  • Assault (Check)
  • Heavy (Check)
  • Medium (Check)
  • Light (Check)
If say 3/3/3/3 is ever implemented, I am fully Clan equipped  . I know I have tons of mechs (and I do mean tons) already for the I.S. but what the hell.... I really need my Thor!

Side Note: Truthfully, when you get to my age, and you buy what you want when you need it, things like this go a long way in helping my wife by giving her an easy answer to questions like "what should she get me for my birthday" or "our anniversary".... Now if you can just release something great around Christmas and Valentines day, I think I can guarantee you some more sales  I don't know about some of you married guys / women out there but simple answers to what can become obessive quests by significant others which become annoying and disappointing is a sigh of relief. Hence, an easy solution has arisen this year. Thanks PGI.

And if your merc unit goes with the IS?

I hate what FTP is doing to gaming.

Compared to? Subscription dominated before f2p, and it is essentially the same, but a bigger barrier to entry.

Man that's nothing! Some of us bought mechs before the game was even playable!

why do you have to bring that up! now a single tear has rolled down my cheak. so depressing. But at least the game was pretty dang fun to play while it was in early closed beta.

Also i don't think this game has made me spend nearly as much money as say world of tanks or warthunder. so at least there's that.

FTP is much worse than subscription in my opinion. If you buy a standard MMO for $60 and pay $15 per month for a year you will spend $240. If you keep playing and buy a $40 expansion pack the next year you'd spend $220. The thing is, though, if you pay the $60 and you don't like the game you cancel your subscription and move on. You are out $60. If something comes up and you can't play regularly you can cancel and resubscribe later.

If you buy a $240 clan pack and are not happy with it you have no recourse. You already spent all the money up front. Not to mention that is only a fraction of the content available for purchase in the game. For $240 in an MMO I get access to the whole game for a full year. If I wanted access to all the content in MWO it would probably wind up costing me over $1000 due to the high cost of EVERYTHING for sale. I would also have to still pay a $15 "subscription fee" for premium time to be able to host private matches.

Subscription based games are a MUCH better value than FTP, especially MWO's FTP model.

but you don't have to buy the $240 clan pack to play. You could have been playing this game the whole time without paying.

When was the last time you played WoW for a year without paying $120+?

Just because you can pay more doesn't mean that you have to or should. Set yourself a budget and don't spend more than that. That could be anywhere from $0 up.

I give a lot of credit to the fact that unlike those games mentioned here... a light CAN kill an assault... while WoT just laughs and makes you have to play the bigger classes

And the Mad Dog/Vulture.

I do want a Timberwolf, but until I see how those gigantic missile pod hit boxes work out I'm not going to pay money for it.

Hopefully they add these down the line.... I would love to see them show up as the new monthly mech this time next year...

You can play more of WoW for free now than you can MWO.

Let me be more clear: FTP is just a model to take advantage of the consumer and try to nickel and dime them with impulse buys. I have a budget for MWO for the foreseeable future: $0. I've already spent close to $100 and looking at what I've gotten for that it really isn't much. I have 23 mechs and bays with three game modes that are not very different. Not much has changed in the year I've been playing, and very little of what has changed has been for the better.

as crazy as this sounds and it's batsh*t... im actually hoping they do an addon pack like the one they did for the phoenix pack which adds the vulture and either the shadowcat or helbringer. cause i would probably pay even more to have those.

No, what is funny is that SC's Dogfighting Module will be out before PGI hobbles together CW. PGI has been promising CW for over 2 years and only has a Power Point presentation.

Shadow Cat and Mad Dog for me please. Only mechs I want out of this pack are the Thor (which I bought the Thor package), Kit Fox (check, not really a light guy, but this looks fun and I need a light clan mech), and the Storm Crow (still not check, but maybe in June). So if they did a Clan reinforcement pack that included the Shadow Cat + Mad Dog, MINE.

Edit: Kodiak because yea.

I have bought several cars over the years... However, even though I had the whole spec sheet, nobody ever told me my transmission on my (bought new, was just 2 years old when it happened) Dodge Charger would blow...

Does having all the specs really make that much of a difference.... sometimes you just have to pull and pray ! I still play the lottery though I know the odds are WAY against me, I equate to this in the same fashion.

LMAO what a noob! Of course they told you that would happen, right here: "DODGE"

I still cant see how anyone can buy these without even seeing what they can or cant do. Its like buying a car without seeing it. You might end up with a van with a 50cc scooter motor .

Funny...I just made a post about this in another thread using a car analogy.

When i first read the title of the thread I was hoping for an "apology", something along the lines of "I did something stupid..." . Haivne read the fine print of his post though, and being the same kinda guy, I can see his logic. I still think it's a shame she didn't just tell him to go nuts on STEAM and buy something with a known track record, and that he would actually KNOW whats in the stuff he bought.
