Archer (70t), probably never because of HG tight fisting the rights to it
Marauder (75t)... DAMN YOU HARMONY GOLD
Phoenix Hawk (45t) Iconic Looks, but it belongs HG, I think
Rifleman (60t) again,I curse you HG, I curse you
Warhammer (70t) once again, I really hate that half witted animating company HG
Wasp (20t), lighter than a spider can we say impossi hit boxes

Well we could get all these designs if PGI goes with the 'reseen' models from TRO:Project Phoenix, HG doesn't own the rights to those images since they are not 'Macross' mechs.

And man I wish the Enforcer had one more variant available in this timeline, thats a favorite mech of mine I'd like to see.

I would so love it if they did that Tin Can, the Rifleman was one of my favorite chassis in the whole game, with the crusader a close second.

And yes, my bad, I forgot the Grasshopper in my "extensive" list, sorry got a bit cross-eyed after staring at all the walls of text digging all of it up.

The Mauler only has one variant available in the 3050 time slot. Doubtful that it'll be available till at least 3060.

I don't really care about that LOL. Really, PGI could come up with two variants for the game. Yea I know, not cannon, blastphemy, all that jazz. Really though, they could do it for the game.

The real issue is a Mauler in MWO would have SERIOUS Awesome mech hitbox syndrome. With those launchers the side torsos would massive. Heck, the Mauler is a wide mech anyway.

Still, it would be a nice addition because of how iconic it is to the Battletech universe.

Here is a quick link for more detailed information regarding the Mauler...http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Mauler

While it is a favorite of many Mechwarriors and Battletech players due to it's appearances in MW2, MW4, and TRO 3050, it has never come equipped with Clan technology by default.

The Mauler is an Inner Sphere design and it isn't likely to appear in MWO because it lacks the three default variants of the current timeline to be viable for consideration. The MAL-1R is released in 3048 and the MAL-1C that uses a C3 slave module (technology that doesnt exist in MWO because all mechs are already afforded C3 capability without it) is released in 3051. The next available variant doesn't appear until 3060. I wouldn't mind seeing the Mauler but at the same time I am not holding my breath either.

You know they've already said they're making the Mauler right?

I can see the Mauler looking like a reworked Awesome (with shoulder missiles and a dedicated head). The hitboxes could be disasterous. We will have to see.

When the Mauler was mentioned in the original context of someone developing concept art for it, it was suggested that the concept art was possibly for something other than MWO, and that it was only being considering in concept anyway. Then the forum whispers machine ran with it as "Mauler confirmed GGclose" the same way people have been parroting that the Vindicator is "going to be the next mech" for the last 3 months and "King Crab confirmed" for even longer.

AFAIK the only mech confirmed to be in the pipeline is the Vindicator as the next 45 ton medium, whenever that will be. The King Crab is on a list somewhere, although a list of what only PGI knows. The Mauler might exist as a concept and have been scrapped or might not even have been MWO related in the first place - although why someone at PGI would be doing mech concepts for anything else is beyond me. We really don't know anything.

I just hope that "IF" the Mauler gets released, it doesn't get the ugly long stick barrel nipples poking out of its chest. =/

I don't understand why people are sooooo focused on staying strickly in canon. There are many short comings with sticking strickly to the old books while trying to develope a modern game. At some point someone had to make up this stuff to begin with. Reminds me of all the trekkies with all their knowledge and then the new star trek movies come out and change everything in the canon. But it made for a better movie, so why not make a better video game?

But as to the Mauler question in one of the No Guts No Galaxy podcasts one of the devs mentioned that he had seen a Mauler in development which is why rumors of it being upcoming are circulating. PGI tends to cycle through the weight classes and i think the last IS mech was the Banshee which is an assault mech. I don't expect to see another IS assualt for at least 4 months which would bring us to september.

I love the Mauler and its hardpoints, I've specifically been sitting on 100 million cbills for 3 Maulers when they are available. I plan on buying all Maulers including a Hero Mauler if they make one. What i'd like to see from a Hero Mauler is the hardpoints swapped so 1 ballistic in each arm and 4 energy in the chest. Its not much of a difference but still unique enough for some interesting builds.

The New Trek Movie does no such thing. It is known to be an Alternate Reality and thus not 100% held to original Canon. ;)

I want one as well. Hauling out with an AC40 Assault will be cool! B)

PGI only follows canon when it suits them.
If they cared about canon, (or game balance for that matter) we wouldn't have big slug throwing ACs instead of rapid fire cannons.

Technically not every AC was considered rapid fire. Some did fire single slugs. But MOST of the lore seems to support the rapid fire cannon idea.

I'd prefer rapid fire cannons, but at the same time, I somewhat like the single fire slugs... it's a tough call for me personally to say what would be better in this situation.

Oh really? Because nowhere have I seen a PGI or IGP employee state in text that the Mauler is the next or even the second assault 'Mech from now. Show me or it's nothing but hearsay.

30 years of putting AC damage in 1 location and Ultras in up to 2 I like how ACs are handled... other than the convergence!

I'd be happy if they cut damage, heat, and RoF in half and doubled ammo. Wouldn't be a huge departure from what they have, and would solve a bunch of pinpoint and poptart issues. Probably do the same with the PPC. AC20 would only do 10 damage per shot, otherwise nothing would be a pinpoint of higher than 5. Gauss would need to be reworked a bit, but with the delay, it's 15 point pinpoint isn't unreasonable.
