We'll be getting a hero for the chassis for today's patch. Here's the sneak peek from NGNG.

The large arms of the bucket are still going to be problematic (in addition to it's height+size), so while it can be like a hero-made Griffin-3M, it will get taken down faster than one.

Good news is this means partial to full overhaul on the weapon visualization which in turn means some modifications to hitboxes.
...maybe.
I could see a 3 streak, 2 laser, 1 LRM-20 rig (in the side torso where the 'impact' of its size on the hitbox will be minimal).

Now if only that Treb did a really animated torso twist to the rear like that Dragon in All Systems Nominal...that would have been priceless.

Nah, I'd prefer the Clan Wolf warhorn to sound more like the very first howl in MW2. Far less generic and much more characteristic.
Though I wonder what Clan Ghost Bear's warhorn would sound like?
(For the love of god don't do a generic horn blow. But if you do...make it a bugle!)

As for function, no real feeling from me, never driven them. Just hope the Blackjack hero is coming soon.

Shouldn't it be bigger with that name? And shouldn't it be more Long range seeing it is named after the largest Trebuchet?

I know half of the mechs have it going 'backwards' for some reason.

The plus side is that it could stream volley lrms against pugs, bad side is it doesn't really have anything unique like the normal trebs.

Eh, it's already slightly taller than most 55 ton mechs (trebs in general). Though featuring a few LRM-15s would be pretty big on it.
Now, I would have liked to have seen 6 to 8 missile launchers and 2 energy hardpoints.
Too hard to use all of that with streaks, but you could boat SRM-2s. Whoosh! o.O; It'd be a great way to test hit registration with SRMs. Or enough LRM-5s to demonstrate the extremely high necessity of shifting LRM firing times to have longer reloads without hurting their DPS (as their DPS is great, spam is not; front loading it a bit more and increasing reload time to compensate would make everyone from LRM user to LRM target much happier). But I'm in fantasy land.
I think I'll pick one up (already have all the Trebuchets) in the not-too-distant future.

Well, I've mastered 3 of them, with the 7M probably being the most disappointing (although, it is probably related to build than anything... 3C was mighty annoying).

It's unique in that it has more missile hardpoints (even if you could fit just 4LRM5s on it, it would be significant over trying to lob 2 LRM15s). The 7M has a NARC missile hardpoint (1 tube) and that MAY change in the dynamic hitbox updates, but ultimately it does something unique. It simply won't compete as well as the Griffin-3M.
The 3M has better hitboxes and a wicked speedy torso twist... something that the Trebuchet does not have (it has the most limited of arm extensions over every mech in the game, minus the AC20 arm Highlander-733C and Victor-9B and 9S.
