Pretty normal for PGI. They put big game system changes in the first patch of the month, the 2nd patch is usually cosmetic and mechs.

Except this looks like a typical 'first of the month' style patch. I'm betting no one was predicting another Champion and Hero on the 2nd patch of the month. I think quite a few people were hoping for Griffin/Wolverine (possibly another Thunderbolt) variants.

It's cool to finally see a Trebuchet Hero however. ;)

I thought they'd already fixed the frame-limit issue, and put processing server-side - what other fixes are you looking for?

Also,

This obviously means that the matchmaker is trying to match weight classes within its parameters - has it always done that? I keep hearing different things, and it's hard to keep up since all of the information isn't in one spot.

There is a supposed to be a fix for actual hit registration in the pipeline and yes the matchmaker has always made an attempt to match weight classes.

Thanks; that's what I thought, but I've had people argue with me over it.

I hoped this patch would bring us the next batch of Phoenix variants (Wolverine/Griffin) ...

;)

Yea, I would love a GRF-2N ;)

Did they ever say there would be more Pheonix variants?

Clan cockpit items?? must see, must have ;)

Not clan, more like lucky charms and nature trinkets, though some could possibly be viewed as both ;)

It widens the allowable band over time to reduce wait times just like it does with Elo.

Actually I think they said the exact opposite. The thread announcing the additional variants was titled "FINAL PHOENIX CHASSIS NOW AVAILABLE FOR MC AND C-BILLS."

Maybe there is some room for interpretation here but I'm not counting on seeing any more Griffin/Wolverine variants.

Seriously? No SRM patch?

A whole lot of stuff to "BUY", but more non-results as to fixing this game. Yet another month I won't spend real money on this game. See you all in June!

I disagree. I make no comment about what people were expecting. Simply reporting that we usually see new mechs (be they heroes, champions or releases) on the 2nd patch of the month. Which this patch is and has. A hero and a champion. Anybody who's surprised there aren't game mechanics improvements in this patch shouldn't be if they're paying attention to PGI's patterns.

Its not on me or PGI to manage expectations of people who get their hopes up with random speculation and wishful thinking.

I take each patch with now expectations at all. All I know is there's going to be a patch and its going to have some kind of changes in it. And I wait to see what those changes are. This way I"m never disappointed.

Yes. Game changes happen in the first patch of the month. Save your "SERIOUSLY" for June.

The problem is that ever since UI2.0 I haven't used cockpit items at all. Before I could at least have 4 mechs on the ready grid so I remembered where my items were. Nowadays it's just impossible to know where your stuff is, so I don't use them at all.

Most intelligible and 'understandable' version of O Fortuna I've ever heard.
I could actually learn the lyrics by sound this way.

Still.
Better timed with the Clan invasion. ;)

This seems to suggest that the 1 group per team rule is back in.

Tis a good thing...

At least the hero mech's theme is appropriate for a change.

except srm fixes were suppose to be in the first patch of the month, but instead we got, well nothing...

oh and the last major game change was the last patch of last month. which of course failed miserably but we are still waiting on 3/3/3/3...

so Ill keep my SERIOUSLY for now and then go to told you so in June...

Please Do Not Forget About the SRM Changes! Prioritize any and all Hit registration fixes. It is also time to start optimizing DX11, don't just give it to us and leave it the way it is.

What happens when at any given time most of the players dropping are in a group?
That's right, players don't get games.
I don't understand this one group per team restriction. What's wrong with having 3 groups of 4 on both teams? That's balanced, right?

That's because it's written in middle German from what I understand. Blame Carl Orff. He wrote the awesome thing. Still sounds better with a symphony for my money.

Great that the limit for more than one team has been fixed. Does that mean that 12-mans are still able to drop in the standard queue, or has that been squashed, as well?
