Granted, my ELO with assault mechs is probably quite low. I made the mistake of learning the game while piloting assaults. Sadly, having done that (combined with the fact I’m a mediocre player playing on a system with low fps), I believe I have spoiled the weight class for myself since it is very difficult to get a match. This is upsetting since I’ve spent quite a few MCs buying assault mechs. Any chance I could have my ELO reset? I also purchased premium time and it’s unfortunate that I won’t be able to play today.
I believe there are likely too many constraints on the match maker. I believe that trying to balance based on ELO, weight classes and number of premades is too much.

Having a text bubble that pops up and tells you what everyone else is trying to cram into the toilet which is current MW:O matchmaker is a useful piece of information, right there.
For those of you who have a personal skill rating of "Derp First Class" or above, think about this for just a moment.
MW:O has a serious retention problem. SERIOUS. They have no problem at all luring in fresh meat....they have trouble keeping people around long enough to experience more than three or four patch cycles. They see no improvement (oftentimes things get worse) and they're gone. So...one of the reasons Elo doesn't work is that they keep flooding the midranks with brand new players....and midranks can be placed with anyone so....yeah.
IF the reason this whole thing is slowed down is because of 3/3/3/3, then...it's cool with me. If I want to get into a match quickly, I'll play what it suggests. If I'm in the mood to play a specific mech, then I might just have to wait a bit.
What would REALLY speed things up a bit is if they could add a "balanced" or "doesn't matter" choice to the MM....then you could have the people that picked "doesn't matter" into an overflow queue which is what we saw for the last 2 weeks. Not a perfect solution, but one that could relieve a bit of the pressure.

Where do I go for a refund of my clan mech pack? I wouldn't have bought it if you had disclosed this new absurdly long waiting system.

This is the reason they NEVER put out any information with regard to "upcoming" patches...because they never, NEVER know what's actually going to make it, what's going to be put in completely broken, what they can sing and dance around. Are you new here?
Like I said before, I dig the whole popup window that lets you know what's going on at that moment. Handy information. The rest of it...half finished, broken, and pretty much the same crap as before...but a step in the right direction. I guess it's some kind of developer's tool they used to try to figure out how to implement the whole matchmaker thing in the first place.
But, seriously, when has PGI ever fulfilled any of it's statements about anything? They're still focused on giving the organized groups that play in leagues the experience they need to continue to compete with one another. As long as they're playing, PGI will get paid for premium time MC, minimum. Guaranteed cashflow.
We, the unwashed, in the public queue....sure, we spend money, but we also yell the loudest about "hit 'em where it hurts" and "not one cent until whatever!" And, odds are, we've managed to accomplish our mission. Unfortunately, for us at least, they changed their focus from their corporate investors to the organized groups and really don't care about us much more than they would some combat simulator full of AIs for the Organized Groups to practice on.
Them's the breaks. Me, I like being a popup that shoots back....

You guys cited something like "80%" of players drop alone, making filling in the rest of the group cake ... did you forget that you have Elo to contend with? Clearly your figures are a touch off.

soooooo the fabled 3/3/3/3, the big talk of yester patch which many cited as not going to work for numerous reasons now finds itself being patched for the second time and AGAIN FAILIER. confirmed no test server they just rent gear for a day which is why tests are only for a few hours at a time.
and you're expected rational people to buy into this product, a product synominous with REPEAT FAIL, hell you can keep that uller pack but N.O.P.E
clans will fail UI.20 won't be fixed and this will be an on going scenario the new reason we can't have CW.
