Regular SRMs are just as bad, sadly. Took 500 SRMs into the testing ground and fired point blank...somehow took about 200 to kill the commando, wasn't able to kill the Cicada. Ran out of ammo as I got its core to red crit (though amused myself by charging into its CT and killing it like that). 500 SRMs...killed a Commando, and nothing else. Stick a fork in my Oxide...I'll be on my Ember/Jenner F, since apparently playing a light vs missile users is going to be profitable until the hotfix...

that would require PGI acknowledging it's broke in the first place. Please, if possible, FRAP or Afterburner this stuff, then submit it on a support ticket to PGI, in fact, let's flood them with support tickets until they are as frustrated and pissed off about it as we are.

TBH, many patches are worse than I expected... and PGI has trained me to expect less.

At this point, I have no confidence 3/3/3/3 will be implemented properly and I don't want it implemented anymore.

There's just too much fail here that I can't anticipate and REFUSE to expect more fail.

Dude, it's working as intended™.

People called for missile nerfs and got them, Amirite? Paul thought SRMs did too much damage too (in some fix, which probably is partially/fully implemented now). I guess it's balanced now!

Well, heavy gear alpha is on the 5th, so that's another robot game. You could play hawken on steam right away, DFM is on the 29th, Kong is all about the guns of icarus, and we'll probably see street fighter ultra early next month.

It's good to know that a third if the game's weapons are broke, but it won't effect the tournament in the least. :/

Actually it will. ACES was using a pair of Awesome-8R for LRM 60 platforms.

Cattra and company just had their strategy scrapped if they don't revert the patch or otherwise fix it before the next round.

As you can see from the end result, losing missile support would likely take a good chunk of their core strategy with it. Their opponents more so- I think everything but the Shaqs had Streaks and/or LRMs on them. Of course, they're done....

There was a time when i had a Centurion 9D with 2xML + 2xSRM6 and that did damage...i even dont expect my Wolverine 7K with a single ALRM20 to do much damage but that 2xASRM6 hit like soap bubbles too and it really is bad...Lights laugh at me and stop in front of me to try Headshots...the 2xML dont scare anyone anyway...

The Mech is to toy around and having one with some reasonable SRM Setup but even as toy its bad...

Funny. Looks like all of the CRYengine kiddies who bitched and moaned about how unfair LRM's were finally got their wish.

Vocal minority, people. Vocal minority. It's how it works.

Now PGI can compare the amount of rage people create now that missiles are broken to the amount of rage generated earlier about how OP'd LRM's were... weigh the two and decide which one is greater.

With Bishop, Tried my BLR-1s (2 LRM 10 + Artemis and 2 LRM 15+ Artemis, 3 Med, Tag, BAP, AMS) and burned all 10 tons of ammo, end result, 256 damage, LRMs totaly busted. Tried my SHD-2h (2 SRM 6 + Artemis, LB 10x, MG, BAP), Burned 2 tons of Ammo (LB 10x Critd before I could fire it) End result, 36 Damage. SRMs broken too.

Great Patch PGI, Whats next? All our mechs models to be replaced by Stick People armed with rubber bands? Though the rubber bands would likely be better than the LRMs and SRMs now.

Obsidian, now that's a name that I could drop $240 on and not even have to worry about it. They have a PROVEN track record and one of the most influential pedigrees in the industry.

OKAY. I just ran some tests in a private match. The SRMs in the Testing Grounds do not read from the same table values as in the real game.

That unto itself is a big problem...

BUT

(video incoming soon)

Test 1:
19 salvos of SRMs (2x SRM 6)

Test 2:
23 salvos of SRMs (2x SRM 6)


Interestingly in the Testing grounds it takes a consistent 28 salvos every time. Now, I chalk up Test 2 to not quite proper positioning--but you get the idea. There is something severely broken here when a year ago only 5 salvos did the job.

That means SRMs have been nerfed by 400%.

And people wonder why this game is broken?...
