Welcome to K-Town!

We have pants to prevent further butthurt - and tacos to eat while the butthurt fades

Used to have cake - but he have not seen our baker in a while

he's been out for about 10 days now. had to go out of town for work but I haven't got an e-mail from him in that time. It could be that he is on Sabbatical or that he is finishing up the FWLM Website for Star Citizen. who knows.

So THIS is what K-Town means....

Learns something new every day.

Wait... you have been around at least as long as I have (If I remember right)....

Or did you mean the Kaetetoa part?

Planet in one of the books - technically cannon, but otherwise ignored?

Yeah, I read the book plot synopsis on Wikipedia, it sounds like a terrible book. As much as I love BT, I never did get into the books.

Book wasn't that bad - but it was very much a product of it's time, and kinda out of place in the BT universe we know and love/hate

I'm aware of Kaetetoa - I was just scrolling the forum page one day and was literally "the f**k was that?" And then I went to Sarna and discovered the weirdest part of BT history. I just didn't connect that with the term K-town tho. Though it meant Korean something...

What, the book connection or that you were in k-town? Neither would surprise me, having gotten washed down here in a thread before I figured it out what k-town was.

The only ones worth reading IMHO are the Grey Death Legion and the Jade Falcon series, the rest are meh. Very formulaic writing. Insert Hero, bad things happen, hero struggles but overcomes after mech stuff, some have inner struggles, some not, depends on which author they picked..

Greetings!

Welcome to KAETETôã

It is here that we Forge

Terrible threads into bad threads

Bad threads into good threads

And good threads into great threads.

If this thread is new to k-town it is

probably because it is terrible

worry not we are making it better already.

K-town does have 10 Commandments*

*10 for for now

We also have the Sacred Pages penned by the MODS themselves

And

The Gospel of the MODs written by Acolyte of the Word RoadBeer

Also

Enjoy the BATTLE HYMN OF THE MODS / POST LERIAN JIHAD WAR CHANT

Please review these so you too

Can post better and enjoy the blessings of the MODs

While avoiding being smote first

In the coming Digipocalyse.

Praise the MODS, Tremble before the ELDER MODS.

Also part of our family here is the

Post Lerian Jihad

“We Post better than you”

Their mission of speaking truth to stupid

And civilizing not just the wilds

But all of the forums.

Enjoy your stay here in K-town

The fact that the K in K-town referred to the planet.
My head kept telling me that it was for Cake (which made no sense since cake doesn't start with K)

Hmmm, kake. Some delicious kake. Kake pops. German chocolate kake, or maybe kokonut kreme kake.

That just looks so weird; and disturbing in a way I can't quite place.

Kake Flag?

At the risk of

being OT

I think the issue

here

is that those nations

for which the flags were provided

strictly speaking

no longer exist.

And that

by adding them to the game

it would appear to be

a sign

that, and i'm paraphrasing

here, the dev teams

feeling like

"Screw it, it doesn't

matter if this is actually in universe

why the hell should we let little

things

like lore breaking additions

interfere with releasing something

we can sell."

or so i'm told.

The lack of respect and apparrent casual disregard

for canon is percieved in large part because of

the ongoing

casual disregard for canon and

the lack of any story, universe

or faction building supported

by the game itself

something largely deemed

completely unacceptable aft two years

especially considering

the rich universe that the property is pulled from.

you can't just say you care about

canon and backstory you

kinda have to show it.

This.

Some people still fly the Confederate flag, or put coats of arms on their stuff from ancestry. It is perfectly logical for an IS pilot a thousand years in the future to maintain some sort of lineage to a particular country from a particular time, and pay homage to that ancestry by placing that flag in their cockpit.

Lore had Heavy Metal playing rock & roll music from the 1950s. Just because the game takes place in 3050 doesn't mean the past didn't exist.

Agent of Change, what is your ancestry? Do you pay homage to it in any sort of way, despite having no real modern connection to it?

I really don't care about the flags; which might be different if there were something deliberately incindiary in the set.
