They can have all the time they need in my book if it gets it all running smooth.

You know its a bug right? We don't get a different patch from the rest of the world. Something is wrong here, and it's not because they are still working on anything.

And... you know this precisely how? I didn't read anywhere that was said anything was getting mixed in, anywhere, and I have a tendency to read a lot, though not all.

"we are not 100% certain what is causing the bug however there was some work implemented to support the upcoming Clan LRM's."

The hot fix did not correct the scaling of damage by distance for LRM's.

The closer you are to the target the less damage LRM's are doing.

what kind of stupid mechanic is that? missles increasing their damage propotional to flight distance? wtf?? i mean i understand that there has to be a minimum range for lrm's but this damage scaling crap is just a desperate try to balance things in the most easiest way....

I know what you're thinking. You're thinking "Did they hotfix six bugs or only five?" Now to tell you the truth I forgot myself in all this excitement. But being this is a game-in-development, the most powerful entertainment in the world and will blow you head clean off, you've gotta ask yourself a question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, pilot?

This game was officially released back in September. There was even an official launch party. There are published reviews of the release-state product, and a metacritic score.

"Game-in-development?"

*sigh*

Not completely untrue, they are still developing new things and fixing (or breaking) things for it are they not?

Ha! Now you lurmmers get to feel how the Victor brawlers feel! Not so nice when your stuff gets turned into mush! I keep waiting for more ghost heat on A/C's all because they refuse to make PPC's a spread damage weapon! Actually I'm not happy about any of it, but I still think that the ghost heat on LRM's is a flat out joke. You can still fire LRM 50-60 just fine, where as try shooting 4PPC's or 6 AC's! It's like they almost want you LRM boats! So ya go a head and burn me down, I don't mind.

Did Niko just admit publicly that the game is still in Beta state?

After 2 years, we really shouldn't still be seeing problems with LRMs every patch.

Kerplunk coding.

No. He stated publicly what they have repeatedly stated publicly. The game will always be in development.

Which is basically saying "still in beta" but in the style of a polititcian?

So...are missiles still broken? I am trying to muster up logging in tonight, but if they are still broken, I won't be wasting my time.

It's the new model of F2P games. You are going to end up fighting with people over semantics.

But for anyone who uses common sense, this game never left beta.

I hope that PGI succeeds with CW, but if they do not, I hope they can salvage a sale of IP and rights to Wargaming, net - of course the Russians were under the communist iron curtain, when BattleTech was first launched, so they may not be as passionate. I hope PGI succeeds, I can appreciate Nikki's Sense of humor!

It's a service, not a boxed product, it will only leave development the day the shutter the doors.

Since I can't quote his post, can someone tell Niko for me that I'm upset he made a slight grammar mistake in his little funny post?
Also, far as I can tell everything is back to normal. :D

Everybody knows that this game is in development.

A BETA phase should at least cover some important things like balancing the weapons and to implement a working hit detection. That has not been done up to now. Therefore we are still in BETA phase now, but inofficially.

Weapon balancing is still not finished and will be probably not completed in 2014 - because of the upcoming balancing of Clan to NON Clan weapons.

Maybe there will be a second release party when the most critical things are done in this game.

Without writing an entire thesis, let's just sum up the points.

1) Clan LRMs will have an exponential curve for damage @ some range under 200 or so. Read the Clan Weapon discussion Paul wrote a while back.

2) Damage seems to be different depending on range - this is through empirical testing found on reddit threads or existing threads on the board. In essence, that is partly the description found about Clan LRM damage.

3) Lots of things are "linked" in the missile code, like the Artemis speeding up Streak locks (which is a known bug/behavior)... since they share the same locking code. Since the change AFFECTED ALL MISSILE TYPES, therefore it is reasonable to assume that whatever they did to add for clan LRMs was not sectioned off the main code path for missiles, thus affecting them globally as they did.

I hope that clears things up for you.

Awww Dawg! How is the QQ crowd going to QQ when you spell stuff out in clear and concise B/W format? You're going to kill the Forums Dawg! Stop it. LOL

Gotta love that bit of bent logic. Weapons will be Balanced when the Community all decide things are Balanced. Muhahahahahahahahaha. Like that will EVER happen. The f'ing Sun will burn out first.
