I don't really know my oxymorons, but can any one clarify the prejudice against ducks, turkeys, tyrannosaurus rex and raptors?

What is wrong with "raptor mech"? Too vague or violent for the kiddies?

Chicken is probably a lot more familiar, and (mostly) ground based at that, making the walking movement comparison easier.

Or so I would assume, based on the ~10seconds thought I put in to this

The term 'chicken walker' is funnier than the terms 'duck walker', 'raptor walker', or 'T-rex walker'.

Lol. And here I thought using "tyrannosaurus rex walker" might be more to scale... But I guess it IS difficult on the tongue.

Also I was thinking ducks coz of the prevalence of large bore autocannon. Especially the LB-X types. One doesnt usually hunt chickens with shotguns because they are usually domesticated animals. On the other hand, mechs don't have webbed foot actuators.

Sigh. Now if only I can learn to start a useful thread...

I should clarify though, that I am not in any way promoting discrimination against said venerable reverse-leg-joint designs. I am only trying to promote intelligent, though futile, hopefully verbiose and possibly entertaing discussion on the peculiar nomenclature.

First mech I owned in-game was a CPLT-C4. And I'm gonna have a Madcat soon.

Here's another degenerate thought: are jenners chicken mechs? Coz while they do have the torsos for it, their legs are not reverse jointed.

That would be part of why they have irritated me since I was little.

"Chicken" mechs are defined by the legs - so no.

As for experiments in futility, I wonder when or if this will get the attention of Colonel Sanders and/or a forum administrator. And, I wonder how much traction this will get.

I can't wait for someone to throw a curveball on satyr-walkers (digitigrade mechs).

Dunno what has you so down - this is the kind of thing the forums were put up to talk about (that and builds or other fun stuff)

This made me think of that T-shirt, that shows a T-rex from the side. He's snout down, little arms wiggling above the ground, and the caption reads "T-Rex Hates Pushups". I can easily picture a mech like the Locust or a Raven in the same predicament.

T-rex not, because his legs are different, and do not look like the "hcicken mech legs" and chicken mechs, I guess because of the toes. MWO mechs lack those toes. So yeha MWo emchs are more like ducks.
