Last patch or so I finally put a user.cfg file in to remove the glass/film grain/etc. and it worked.
...but it appears the glass is back for me.
Did they change the value of 0 in "gp_option_ShowCockpitGlass=0"?

Same issue with cockpit glass reappearing on my STALKER mechs only. The other mechs I have tested on various maps behave correctly with the glass disabled as specified in the config file.
I have the following config settings in place:
# 20140429 patch added the following options
#------------------------------------------------
#
# ShowCockpitGlass on=1 off=0 (default ON)
gp_option_ShowCockpitGlass=0
#
# on=1 off=0
r_DepthOfField=0
#
# film grain amount0.0 to 1.0
r_HDRGrainAmount=0.0
Cockpit glass shows up on the following 3 STALKERS (the ones I own) but not my other mechs that I have tested:
STK-3F <== Has glass with glass disabled
STK-5S <== Has glass with glass disabled
MISERY <== Has glass with glass disabled
I also want to report that all 3 of my STALKERS lost their weapons grouping with the 5/20 patch. My other mechs appear to have retained their weapons groups. Coincidence?

Misery pilot, as well.
That's odd.

Cockpit Glass when viewing other people's mechs, particularly Stalkers, even though I have the effect turned off.

Confirmed -
I also see cockpit glass when spectating STALKERS but not other mech chassis regardless of the mech I was piloting before being killed in match. This is with cockpit glass disabled per the 4/29 config options.

OK, so it is not just by me.. Same cockpit glass issues in HPG, by all my STALKERS (M, 5M, 3F). Worst is it, on the D6/D5 border (view: D5 direction ~ targeting the Training Ground Atlas.)

This issue is not new. Various user.cfg parameters get enabled/disabled by the client in seemingly random circumstances, not just after patching. This happens despite the supposedly fixed setting order. (Since a couple of patches ago, user.cfg is supposed to always override game settings.)

My Jager is showing slight Cockpit glass as well. Really annoying on my stalker. Come on PGI get it fixed.
