Problem with PGI is they have really warped priorities. And nobody is going to stick around for 2 years for them to get it sorted out.

For example how much time have they spent d*cking around with ELO and 3/3/3/3? Features the community never even asked for. All we ever asked for was simple tonnage matching, which we still dont have.

And then theres CW... being prioritized over core fundamentals like working SRMs? CW shouldve been completely off the table at least until we had a working matchmaker and SRMs...

And I dont even want to get into role warfare and how the lack thereof adversely affects the long-term monetizaton of this game (no reason to buy new mechs when theyre ALL the same).

Weird how their priorities seem to be around refining their game to provide a better experience to all players as a whole.. just weird...

By taking the most convoluted and income generating pathways to do it?

Just weird...

Every time I get an urge to spend some money for a MC, I remind myself that Smurfy also has a Donate option on his webpage.
Now that is a money well deserved.

It's like paying for the ui we actually want.

I have not been cheated, and doubt anyone who has bought anything in this game has been.

Not cheated, just disappointed.
We're disappointed when we think of what this game could have been.

Been a supporter since closed beta, Legendary and Overlord and I had bought the full clan pack minus the gold BS but have requested and received a refund, just can not justify spending anymore with the direction things are going. It's a shame since this could be a great game!

"It could have been great" would be a fitting statement to chisel into MWO's grave when the time comes.

I dont think this game will ever be above average. The Developers just dont have the time and/or the commitment to step up the quality. I really love the BT Universe and I would even spend the ridicilous amount of 500 Dollars for a Golden Masakri if this game had more to offer than Team Deathmatch. But as of now theres not a single point to get more mechs.

Only comment I have to make now is more of a question

How many people here would even consider buying of supporting another project run by these people if/when MWO shutsdown

I think this is their last hurrah, that is unless they can turn it around. I can think of no other game that has generated so much ire from their player base and that even includes EA.

My two cents.

I agree with one of the posters. Take a break. I did for a month. I decided to play World of Tanks. That game is not too shabby. It is definitely a money suck...anyway, after a month break I came back

...to the same crap which was the reason why I took a break.

1. The endless grinding with zero goals in sight.
  • mech is mastered.
  • mech has, on the average, 3 module slots, 2 of which I generally use on all my mechs, seismic sensor and advanced zoom.
  • Oh look, mech is mastered and the pitiful few slots are filled. No more obtainable goals left for said mech.
  • Wash, rinse, repeat.

2. All mechs in their weight class are pretty much the same.
  • Players find the one they can min/max in the said weight category and generally stick to it.
  • No goals in sight

3. They are now putting out Hero mechs that are not very playable.
  • The Quickdraw.. basically a horrible mech.
  • The Trebuchet. I /almost/ spent MC on the new Hero. When I realized that I could not check what skill level I obtained with my previous Trebuchet's courtesy of the new UI, I grabbed the 8 mil CB one to master it up.
  • That is when I remembered that Trebuchet's are not very good. They lose their arms waaayyy too fast in a match.

4. Did I mention that we have zero goals? I can only play so many win/loss games before I grow BORED and FRUSTRATED.

5. The cockpit candy... Meh. I reuse the same ones in every mech.

6. Yes, I bought the clan package. I went as far as buying a Gold one. I also bought the whole clan package for my friend.
  • My worry is: They will play and function exactly like an IS mech!! If that happens I will get a refund and then I am done.
  • I am actually concerned they will not make their June 17th deadline, or if they do, they will break the hell out of the game mechanics because they have rushed to get the clans out on time.
  • If that occurs, i.e. bugs and whatnot, I hope like hell PGI/IGP compensates the players. We are not here to Beta test their product.

7. Did I mention the constant, boring, frustrating grinding on the same maps, spawning in the exact same spot on the same side if one is teamed?

Now on to something positive.

If the great karma machine takes pity on us, the players, PGI/IGP will dive full into getting us community warfare. Getting us goals and objectives. Fix all of the, now huge, issues that they put on the back burner due to trying to get the clans out the door in time.

Cross your fingers.

I'd laugh if I hadn't already been through at least 3 iterations of this in the past.

I left for 5 months, which during that time I heavily indulged in War Thunder and World of Tanks, came back in May to assess the situation before June 17, whether its worth to plug over $200 for the Clan sets.  I could afford it really, retired and owning a set of apartments.

First thing first.
1.  I plugged a considerable sum of money in the game, with at least six hero mechs (just bought Malinche recently as well), the Project Phoenix and Saber packs.  Not to mention money to buy bays and camouflage,
2.  Don't really care much about Star Citizen, although I look forward to it.
3.  I am not as hanged up in Community Warfare, I don't think anyone could beat what FromSoftware (Dark Souls creators) ever did for Chromehounds and Armored Core V/Verdict Day.

Now what I see:
1.  Same old, same old, abuse of lights, LRMs and assaults, stupid Gauss nerf and ghost heat.  Failure to uphold greater Risk = greater Reward principle.
2.  The maps still suck.  Muddy graphics, bad design.  This is the only game I ever had to squint my eyes on.  I didn't need to do that on World of Tanks and War Thunder despite such smaller targets on these games.  The muddiness seems to have grown first due to stained glass.  Also feet continue to get stuck in various places like River City.  The maps, except for some, are poorly concieved for mech combat, being too small relative to mech size. Brawls tend to create mobs, as a result, people get far too often in the way.  Worsening the map situation is the random drops.  I love seeing a large assembly of mechs march out to battle, as it gives an epic feeling.  Now teams seem to get isolated quicker (random drop on Alpine the worst), bad lances gets wiped out, stomp occuring more common.  This setup seems even worst for PUGs.
3.  When connected, the game is actually great, and for a game of this nature, MWO is a bit lag resistant and tolerable.  However, the game is prone to disconnections.  The game disconnects even more than it was a year ago.  Unlike World of Tanks, there is no way to return to the same game once your are disconnected.  While World of Tanks and War Thunder can be quite laggy, they keep you connected to the game like Super Glue.  Not only do I get disconnected from MWO, sometimes I find it hard to login back.   I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, client repair tool and it still happens.
4.  The new lobby UI totally sucks.  This is the worst management UI I have yet seen in a game.  In contrast, WoT and WT have clean, friendly and visually appealing management UIs.  Once login, the UI seems to sync eternally, slow and lags in response.  Things drag and don't seem to get done.  A lot of my disconnections occur in the UI area.
5.  MWO boasts being a "thinking shooter".  Honestly I feel World of Tanks and War Thunder Ground Forces do a much better job of being a thinking shooter.  People there seem much more concerned with tactics and team play than being a meta player, though I will say MWO has a much more polite player community.

My conclusion now is that I won't spend money on the Clan sets.  Despite thousands of drops, the next consideration now is whether I shall uinstall the client now, permanently.

Check out some of the community leagues. I was already involved with Marik before I became bored so it's been easy for me to pick it up again. There is also "Run Hot or Die" and one other that I am blanking on right now.

There is also a promising project that might let the community create community warfare so we don't have to wait for PGI to get there:
