Hi, I think a mech with a gunner or gunners and a driver is exciting. With the players automatically connected to comms between each other.
A new Mech with a turret on each shoulder with a gunner in each would be brilliant. With the ability to rotate the turrets like a tank. The driver would have control of maybe missiles or call airstrikes as well as piloting.
The Mech does not have to be big just very useful with the ability to deal out damage in all directions perhaps limiting its ability so it keeps the game balanced.

OK - 2ways to do this:
double cockpit - for example for BattleMaster, Atlas or comming Mechs
wait for the Poseidon or Ares.

You get that a lot in MWO already. Especially if you are the last one alive on your team.. you sometimes have up to 11 backseat drivers telling you how to move and shoot (Gets really crowded in the cockpits sometimes with 11 Mother-in-laws behind you).

Turn Cockpit volume at max, play justin bieber.
Soon all spectators will disconnect.

I don't think having two people drive/shoot at the same time is a good idea.
But what is a great idea is having a second seat (command chair) where a dedicated commander could use the battlegrid to give orders and spectate all friendly mechs.

I think people need to learn how to give and follow orders before that happens lol....

Yeah thats... thats not mechwarrior. Have you tried Planetside? They have exactly what you're looking for.
Some 'mechs did have dual-cockpits, or rumble seats, but that was generally for training or command purposes.
