Can't believe you actually did it. I personally enjoyed running the C-ERML, C-MG Nova build you suggested, and it is fun! Now that smurfy has the clan mechs uploaded, I'm gonna go fiddle with them there, and create some stupid builds (6xUAC2 Daishi, for maximum cockpit shake, or 2xLB-20X Daishi). This game is going to be a lot more fun than I expected.

If they add the Targetting Computer the TC 1 alone with its increased crit chance will add a very sweet extra. Also that bit more of range will be nice too.

TC doesn't help MGs or Flamers, kinda sad. I know.

What the madness? Those are totally direct-fire weapons though. :\

Yep, but they already have an improved crit chance. It specifically says in the description that TC helps all ballistic and energy weapons, except for flamers and MGs.

Dang, now that is the weaksauce, since flamers could definitely use something. On the subject of machine guns though, I'm thinking about a goofy nova build with 5MGs and 6C-ERMedLasers. Or something like that. It'll have to keep until it's out for c-bills anyway.

Oh I just took

Quote

Increased crit chance for projectile and beam weapons: [+14.5]%

and thought both count as projectile wepoans, since the flamers has kinda projectile mechanics.

Yeah that config is very nice too, because you can make use of the Nova S quirks, and not get the penalties of the prime ones. Also the heatsinks extra cna give you much more sustained firepower compared to 12 CERML's.
I still prefer being on the risky Edge of overheating xD

And more funbuilds:

heat neutral 2 CERML

disperses 5,02 heat/sec

too bad we do not have 1 tonnage more space, this way we could make a real permabeam CERML Nova, but sacrificing more armor would not be a good idea.

6CERSL 4MG

except form hot maps, this build should be able to run 2 constant Perma SmallLaserBeams on a heat neutral level. But then we wouldn't be able to carry 6 to have 2 constant beams :/
Range just sucks, but it takes advantage of the S-Variant quirks too. Or better said of not having the prime arm Quirks.
I definately need to test this, sounds funny to go with.

Unfortunatley a two beam SMPL wubwub isn't possible to work heat neutral, but you could get a single heat enutral one. This would require 26DHS on a neutral map, but that doesn't fitrs with 2 constant beams (needing 6 SPL)

So with 6 SPL, you should still be able to make a long wubwubsession in 2 cosntant wubwub-beams.

definately needs to be tested too.

They are actually template weapons. Or whatever the MW:O term is for them. They hit an area in front of them.

You can always use the prime and slap 12 ERSLs in there. With the 4MGs

this is one of the best things with the Nova, since all 3 variants are basically the same CT in its variants it doesn't cares what Pods you equip, meaning you can safe a lot money if you make one of the Novas a Laboratory Testversion. Those 2,5% extra Xp aren't really amazing enough to go for the setbonus.

Thank god they gave us the Kitfox C arm. Now clans have ECM they can use as well. Otherwise my COM-2D would pretty much end clan mechs right off the bat.

Man, some GaussJagers messed me up good yesterday. The torso twist on those things is unsporting, especially when there's like a full lance of them. Points to them for the mad aiming skills though. I haven't used gauss since the beta, and I get the definite vibe that the warmup would throw me off something fierce.

/edit: Also, SPLaser spam. All of the SPLasers on all of the builds.

yeah Nova with 12 ERSL is soemthign extreme, in CQC it can volley its arms with such a low amount of heta, its nearly a crime. If they don't prio target you you can deal a massive amount of damage withing a short time far beyonf believe. But that build is super shortrange.

Alsoe something else

Make Love, Not War

LRM 5 is just for blind Scouting fire for opponent AMS fire.

Modules:
AMS Overlaod
Seismic
UAV.

LOL don't go alone in that build. Also, I'm going to be positively incensed with you if you go off alone and throw LRMs at things you can't possibly hit with that thing. Had a bad experience with a less-than-useful Dragon pilot in one match where he was the last guy alive because all he mounted was LRMs and he hid at the edge of the map the whole time.
