First built in 2870 by Clan Hell’s Horses, the Nova is a well-balanced machine

Not in this game.IMHO DOA bcuz of 1,4 DHS and Ghostheat.
Looks nice

Loving it

Glad that the arms and legs are separated to allow torso twisting [I know it's not cannon but I don't think it would translate well in-game] even if it makes the Nova taller than it's first rendition.

Makes me want a Super Nova even more now D=

Ghost heat isn't going to treat Nova Prime very well though =/
Nor are the gorilla arms but that's part of the charm.

Looks pretty good but in my head I pictured the nose to be a little longer. Currently it looks like a bigger Uller to me. Still pretty though as I like the Uller design too.

I'm glad it's got a snub nose, keeps the profile smaller.

I'm laughing at the notion of well-balanced machine coupled with it is unable to handle the heat this loadout generates on an Alpha Strike, forcing the pilot to fire in volleys

Well that just made the cicada champion obsolete in terms of firepower...

I figured they'd save the Dire Wolf for last. Too bad thats the one I want to see the most ;_;

Hmmmm old girl looks pretty good, but even with my overall preferred clan mech getting revealed im still on the fence about buying, especially with the missile nerf preview we got recently XD

Would you drop into a match with a mech that has no torso twist? I am being serious here.

At the end of the day, PGI had t make it with twist. They made it taller as well since it would have been too small otherwise.

I'm looking forward to alpha striking hitting the self destruct button in that mech.

Nobody would Alpha 12 ML anyway. Not every mech is made for Alpha striking. Like 4 ER PPC Warhawks.

Some of my biggest questions about the upcoming release center around this mech....first question is: How the hell is it supposed to fire 12 medium lasers and not blow itself up with the way heat scale/energy weapons are nerfed in MWO. (Of course, you can change out the weapons or the arm pods...but besides that, this might be the Omnimech with the worst stock loadout of the whole bunch...even chain firing, I don't think it's going to make very much sense to have 12 ERMLs on here) Second...I'm wondering how the size scale on Omnis is going to be...is it short enough that it is kind of hard to hit for a 50 ton mech? And/or is the Nova so short that this mech will spend more time shooting the dirt instead of its target given that it's arms practically hang down by it's knee caps?

Besides those questions- It does look a lot more sexy than I initially expected....good job on that PGI.

All those people here forgetting those are ERML, not ML.

Nova should be a balanced mech, because it can dump all it's heat in one turn (it has the cooling ability of 36 HS, while the BT heatscale goes up only to 30). However, add PGI's "balance" of Clan weapons (let's see, it's ER, so they can't change range, crits and tons are also fixed not to break canon loadouts... that leaves us with, you guessed it, heat) and I think this mech will be lucky if it can fire 4 of those for a decent amount of time.
