Still cannot wait to TK the ******* who TKs. Rage all you want at PGI, but leave the people who keeps paying to keep the servers running for you alone.

Not joking. You're getting 2xAC20s to the rear armor. Or the leg. No questions, and no comments.

Cry harder and consider it role-play, no Clanner would be caught dead in anything gold.

Outside of RP, you represent the figure of people who let devs turn an IP into ****.

Better the servers die.

Also why in the Carte is it 55 dollars for a Kit Fox but 30 dollars regularly? Please explain the logic. Why make La Carte cost more than the regular mechs (which are only 30 dollars and more stuff is included)? PGI does not know how to market this stuff and I can guarantee that they would make way more money if they would actually fulfill any of their promises.

Plus the Gold mechs look like crap.

How can something that is basicly a donation be overpriced?
Some people really think they should be "worth" 500 bucks. The Goldmechs are a token of gratitude for your ongoing support and donation of 500 bucks. Many F2P games have this. Nothing special, move on.

Will happily take it. Being banned makes it easy to walk away forever from a dying IP.

I'll still be able to kill that gold mech though… That'll be nice.

Okay so 1000 bucks for a Starter kit is worth it then (there are games that charge that)?

And also its not a donation. We want the mech not a thank you from PGI. Why overprice a mech. I can guarantee that when the Gold mech crap, is over with (cause they are limited edition) that there will easily be 75% of them left.

With all the time, work, etc making them its not worth it in the least. People will not spend that kind of money for a crappy looking Gold mech.

Finally its not a token of gratitude. Tokens of Gratitude are GIVEN to you because they want to say they are thankful. THIS is an attempt to get money nothing more, nothing less. These mechs are crap, the idea of a Gold mech is crap, and trying to implement the Clans before Community Warfare is FREAKING STUPID! PGI, please think through this.

To make a Gold mech you pay for-
Texture Artist
3d Modeler
Animator

For maybe a few weeks to make the mech. So close to at least a few Thousand dollars. If you wanted to make even a portion of that back, you should have made it worth only about 300 dollars (tops and include the biggest package minus the mech you buy which is Gold) and you would sell a WHOLE LOT more, because that is so much more affordable. You would make way more money that way, because people would be more likely to buy it at that price.

Also- MAKE IT LOOK LIKE GOLD!

Actually you need only a texture artist for the gold mech skin. Even a modeler hypothetically can do it. As a modeler working with Crytek, it's not hard to lay out the UVs and paint the gold/specmap/reflectmap into them. Which is basically an image of golden yellow, and two black&white images (the specmap can be colored too). (Your modeler may already be sharing building the deformation/bump map, which is basically another black&white image.)

Unless you have parts that need to move, an animator isn't required in the slightest.

People make gold skins all the time for so many games, even those as crappy as a IMVU.

If you want the mech, buy A La Carte or one of the non-$500 packages. If you want the GOLD mech, well, tough? The Gold mech is specifically for people who want to donate the money to PGI, essentially. To go above and beyond the desire for the mech itself. It literally is exactly the same mech as the prime, but spray painted in a too-green gold foil job that, imo anyways, looks horribly tacky.

It is like getting the option for a ferrari, then complaining about the price of a gold one specifically because you want it.

They don't need the donations. Not after squandering all the money we've forked over for founders/phoenix/MC. You're financing a toxic developer who is only going to further abuse the Mechwarrior/Battletech IP.

And that's part of why I'm giving gold mech owners the twin AC20 treatment.

Yes, well, while I refuse to purchase a gold package (it simply is not worth the money, at all, to me), your logic is detremental to the IP as a whole.

PGI, whether or not you like it, has the sole rights to the Mechwarrior franchise until 2022. You can scream and moan about how they are handling it, but they have it. Until they picked it up, nobody would come near the Mechwarrior IP. They are producing a Mechwarrior game. Nobody else is, at this time, producing one. If the community is what shuts down PGI, do you honestly think ANYONE is going to pick up Mechwarrior?

Good luck with that.

Um… *points at MW:LL*

Now nobody is making a Mechwarrior title. The community has been trying left and right to fix/build-upon this IP. Just look at the treatment we gave MW4:Mercs with all the community mechpacks, the MW2 remakes or even MegaMek (which is more CBT's arena).

I really don't think you know how strong this community is and how loyal it's been. But one thing is for certain, you don't believe in it.

You also seem to not care that much about the state of the game itself, compared to other games MWO shares market with, and how toxic it treats its player base with content and micro-transactions.

Which is fine. This just makes you nothing more than a PGI drone.

Resorting to personal attacks based on nothing is a sure way to win an argument. I applaud your adult manner of trying to defend a flawed point.

Not worth my time to argue with you.

The world and this market runs on flawed points, else the community would have died the moment corporate Microsoft got their hands on the IP.

Most certainly it was a personal attack. Where two people have two strong independent mindsets, they will always bound off and in time unavoidably attack each other. The question remains if they can be civil about it after.

I will TK your gold mech professionally. In return you will professionally report me and I will be banned professionally for it. Like two gentlemen nodding to each other in passing, we go our separate ways.

But in the mean time, I will stand by my defense of the IP and the community I've come to know that supports it. Most of them are already gone from the game, given up at how PGI has treated it. I've been more loyal but it hurts now. Especially when you have seen everything this community has done to try and empower this IP (for christ sake, I'm a legendary founder, a phoenix overlord, and over $1k in MC purchases made, now looking back after years and coming to the realization that even that won't be enough for PGI to do justice in this IP).

Being a game dev makes it even worse, knowing potentially where my money is really going, where those with me's money has gone, and where it all easily gets potentially leeched off to a toxic publisher...

I'm not on PGI's team. But even the community knows how games get made.

It might not be worth your time. Yet it still is worth ours. I'd appreciate you not further trying to stand in-between those "whining" on the forums and PGI. As said, a simple report, one at a time, will be rid of us.

No for me its still 470$ for the gold mech.

because all i woudl want is the Nova gold and its variants. atll the other mechs would be useless, and so they are worthless for me, but I still have to pay for them. I would instant buy a gold Nova for 260$

what? the gold mechs are just an alteration of the regular mechs, so its basically 90% work for a reskin job and maybe 10% 3d modelling for the "unique" geomentry.

It's just a reskin. No additional modeling added. A trend of PGI in previously reskinned mechs. Also incredibly cheap and easy to do.

Absolutely not. Debates hinge on two individuals stating their facts and staying civil, regardless of their extent in difference of perspective. Failure to stick to the facts undermines the arguer's position. The fact that instead of targeting the FACTS like an adult (PGI has the rights to 2022, that nobody would touch the franchise UNTIl PGI, and nobody will take up the franchise if they see a community burn the one company that DID take the risk at the stake), you acted like a child who was unable to undermine the logic in my argument.

Therefore, no. You are not being civil, and not worthy of having a civil conversation with.

That is the last response you get from me.

Much Ranting

So seeing how angry you are with PGIGP I would like to ask what it is that keeps you around as you obviously have no respect for the developer or the paying community, yourself included as you've already mentioned your financial contributions.

Why the rage against the Khan Mechs? It's not like it affects you in any way other than your self importance as a lore/IP fanatic. You should seriously just put the game down and go back to the other options available to you as this seems way and above your tolerance levels. Leave with dignity and a head held high instead of aiming for a Perma-Ban because someone else with a disposable income bought something for whatever reason and you don't like it. Either that or just build a bridge and get over it.

But if you can't do either of those and I witness you venting on a team mate I will be sure to report with the appropriate footage and a link to this Thread to show your actions as being premeditated, so with luck for you and everyone else your ejection from the game and community will be swift.

You see I'm one of those that is probably overly indifferent and happy to just let them get on with it at whatever pace it takes and deal with the speed bumps. But that's just me, uncaring with unrustled Jimmys

Also waiting for my "Gold Khan Warhawk" :D

Did i miss something? MWLL was not a gold rated, 10 start, and 100 thumbs up mod. It was fun but we need to be honest, it was not going to be anything near what anyone had envisioned the revival of the franchise to be. One might also ask, why do more people play MWO than LL? when i played LL not many people even played. Most times i came on, and i came on quite a bit nobody was playing. For me the game was not worth playing. I just could not get into the game like i did with the older games. I picked it up and got bored fast. With MWO it is a different story. I generally enjoy the game. I have fun tying to become a better pilot, and best every other i face. This is a game i can come back to. I play MWO more than i play any other game of mine.

You don't spend a lot of time on Twitch.tv do you ? I've seen streamers get over 1000$ donations. Some dude gave a random guy (or girl) a thousand bucks so that he/she can keep doing nothing but play videogames online all day.

Blows me away. At least here you get something for your 500$. That said I'm certainly not going to buy one of those packs lol.

That really never occurred to me. I've done my fair share of browsing there but I never made the connection. I don't suppose anyone would like to make a donation to the 'Get Ninthshadow a Makasari pack fund'*? Lol!
