I understand that if I buy any clan package right now I will get the banner for May, and the colors for June.

What I have a question about is if you buy a clan package today will you get the May, June, and whatever rewards are within phases2-4?

Would it be better just to wait until Phase 2 starts and buy in at the beginning of a different round of rewards?

If you mean the social rewards you'll get whatever rewards are unlocked. At the current pace I would only count on 1 & 2. Any of the social rewards unlocked after you make your purchase will automatically be added to your package, so no worries there.

If you mean the monthly rewards you'll only get the ones that are still available (May and June as of today).

IF you buy it know you get everything listed and what ever PHASE REWARDs that are unlocked. As it is, only Phase one has been unlocked. We will likely get Phase 2 but dont count on Phase 3-4 as they are dependant on how many packages are sold, and they arn't selling that many. If you wait, you just miss out on the may bonus. So if you ARE going to buy, do it now to get your extras. Cause if you are going to but wait, you bassicly raised the price on yourself.

I was gifted the Masakari pack. Here's what I can tell you between it and past packages (that you can see I have).

You get the May rewards if you buy within May. Any pack size.

June within June.

I am NOT getting any monthly rewards for April, March, etc., because mine was acquired after that.

Mine came to me after the Phase 2 was at 80%. I'm getting the Phase 1 stuff.
You will be getting all phase rewards that get unlocked regardless of when.

Some quick notes:

• Monthly and social rewards do apply even if you get an Al la Carte purchase.
  
• "Prime" variants will have the 30% cbill increase (like a hero mech). They will also their own pattern that like hero mechs cannot be changed. (Though you can recolor them, like Phoenix and Founder mechs).
  
• You can buy the lowest tier package to get the rewards mentioned before. Then upgrade later (I started as a Veteran Founder, which I purchased after already being infatuated with the original game in closed beta; then eagerly hopped up to Legendary Founder).
  
• The "unique content" described in the packages will only come with the packages, not the Al la Carte.
  
• Clan mechs may also run by a hardpoint system, but you can 'change' arms and side torsos to switch to other hardpoints. Every Clan mech can equip weapon type.
  
• The interchangeable limb system (their version of omni pods) comes with agility changes per arm or side torso change. Generic rule: More hardpoints = slower or more limited torso or arm agility.

That's actually false. There is this wonderful thing called marketing, which they utilize to boost their sales, as they do with all their bundles. They used this exact same strategy with the Phoenix package, and unlocked the final phases within launch/on launch day.

Short answer:

You will get the social rewards and all time-sensitive bonuses appropriate for your purchase date. This includes Ala Carte.

The Phase one reward is a 'polygon' camo scheme for the Mechs you pre-order. The mouse over is broken for the moment. Hopefully it will be fixed before social phase 2 is unveiled.

You can neither prove nor disprove how many people rushed to buy the Phoenix package last minute. I doubt they will just hand them over to us if they don't make their sales mark. You can bet though that what ever it is, they will sell it to us later. So why give it to us for free if we don't force enough members to buy the pakages for our greed in getting said rewards.

This is quite true. Regardless of how 'good' or 'bad' the sales may be, they can draw out the unlocks as long as they want to make the sales increase. After all if phase 2 is at 90% and you want to see what it is, you'll ask X friend to get one too to help unlock it. They in turn do the same, and it continues.

Even if sales go poorly, they can hide that fact by unlocking them all anyway as evidently "sales must have gone well" if they were all unlocked.

The only varying factor is how soon or how late they hold it out there. It could be said that if they release 'too' quickly, that sales were awful as releasing them makes sales look good, which in turn makes you consider buying one too so you don't miss out.

Given how long it's been 'drawing' out, sales are quite possibly higher than some might expect.

Man marketing is a great thing. It's too bad whoever thought up the social rewards didn't also think up the gold mech prices. People are a bit happier to spend a copious amount of money for a Masakari package + a gold heavy or assault, but they aren't as willing to spend as much on a medium or light. A different price for each 'class' would have made considerably more sense in the grand scheme when it came to the Gold mechs.
