Seemed like the best forum for this question: exactly how does the number of jump jets scale with their effect? I can get hard numbers for turn rate vs. engine from smurfy, but is there a explanation posted to how fast a mech will lift off with 1,2,3, or 4+ JJ's? Does increasing jump jets give you more vertical speed, more JJ fuel for longer burn, or both? Seems like a patch not so long ago affected this, but not sure exactly what it did in terms of game mechanics.

More jumpjets mean more thrust and therefore more acceleration and higher jumping height, if you had 1 jumpjet and add a second you will gain height twice as fast, add a 3rd and you will get a 50% speed boost, a 33.333% boost for a 4th, 25% for 5th, 20% for 6th.

as far as I am aware only 1 mech can mount more than 6 jets (the Spider 5V can mount 12), double the number of jets and you double acceleration and therefore maximum possible altitude as fuel is used at the same speed regardless of the number of jets used.

the lighter the mech the greater airborne maneuverability it has

these figures may not be exact but should give you a rough idea

Some of the Griffins and Wolverines can mount 7
