The tournament and the way they score it is why all the LRM's.
Assists, no easier way to get assists and rack up plain old damage like a few LRM's.
To the underhive even a single LRM 5 on a mech makes that mech a LRM BOAT!
LRM's are both weak and strong. if you will not learn what they can and can not do you are a fool.

A well positioned LRM30 and spotter can maim a meta poptart in 30 seconds. If anyone is looking for some anti-meta that may be (situationally) it.
Of course 30 seconds is plenty of time for a situation to shift. Instead of discussing how any build is OP, one might want to consider the SITUATIONS when a build is strong. Roles try to get themselves in the right situations.
For instance, most PPC builds have difficulty with sustained fire heat (which is why they compensate by poptarting). They can still be overwhelmed by too many targets.
We can troll the forums all we want for ideas (and wondering what were missing) but nothing beats trying something unfamiliar for a spin.
