You don't know much about the royal dynasty in Europe over the last centuries, do you ? Blue blood is not a royal mark but rather a genetic disease caused by inbreeding.

Working as intended ^^

Or what would you do, if you are so high on your horse, that every elses DNA is supposed to be inferior?
Actually, she should have simply cloned herself.

What about Danai Liao-Centrella? A child of brother and sister more directly.

Although if you read the books its more due to the Liaos being crazy and thinking themselves gods. Only those of divine blood are worthy and such.

And what about them Clanners huh? They'll mix up any batch of genes, regardless of 'family connection'. As there is only the bloodline, there are no mothers, fathers, brothers or sisters as such.

But I guess clan genetic engineering may come with some knowledge about how to avoid inbreed related problems Which freeborn inbreed may be randomised in.

Also, afaik the trueborn stuff only counts for the warrior caste, so techs and regular people still breed normally?

Actually I do know how 70% of every royal family in Europe is related because they married their own 1st and 2nd cousins.

One simple thing... ******.

Katherine/Katrina used Victor's (HER BROTHER'S!) DNA to conceive Alaric...

That means Alaric is his own First Cousin and his parents are also his Aunt and Uncle. Which makes his Mom and Dad their own Brother/Sister-in-laws. Alaric is also their nephew.

This is one of those near I am my own Grandpa cases (if you haven't heard that song look it up on Youtube, it is one of those- Its so wrong its hilarious things-).

... and people wonder why I hate that (insert five blank spaces). *SPIT*

She needs to die a death so ignominious that it makes kirk's death in the star trek films seem positively heroic .... either that or have Joe Quesada treat her like he mistreated spidey and mary jane - sell her out to the devil (who she has served so faithfully).

I'd be crazy kali liao's whipping child before I was katherine's *SPIT* most favored heir.

...

Did I mention I don't like her?

You sir... have just done the impossible. I already hated her before. I did not think I could hate her any more than I already did. Congratulations. I now have managed to squeeze out a little more hate for her.

I now wish to find her death scene in the book series and read it, and read it again... and... You get the point.

She died of old age... cause Victor wouldn't kill her because Vlad Ward wanted her and threatened a new Clan War on the Inner Sphere (which was an empty threat because none of the Clans could go to war after the Wars of Reaving because half of them were destroyed there).

Victor let her live... I hate him because of it.

Hum. I heard she was killed by her own son... But I haven't read it myself as it was just to the point where I could not get new BT novels. Basically, it is outside my personal knowledge, so I'll have to look this up...

Don't worry, when Ward and Katherine Wolf return for the next clan invasion, Victor will be done away with and Katherine will once again be the rightful ruler of the Federated suns.

Or not, because Victor's got some thick stack of plot armor.

Ahmm....Whuff?
Victor's been dead for about ten years as of 3145.
Vlad has been dead for nearly sixty and Katherine's merely recently deceased.

Happens in sibkos all the time, clans place no value in seduction, sexuality, foreplay, or taboos, you as likely to be propositioned in the street out of the blue by a stranger for a quicky, just as often as being ordered by a superior to copulate with them. they don't care about nor have any laws against, courtship, ****, ******, **********, pedophilia, gender roles, or anything like that, sex is more seen as purging the body of its state of arousal then it is about love or affection, in fact sex is often used as a form of punishment and to instill discipline. (as Aiden Pryde found out.) its not uncommon for entire sibkos to brake out in an orgy after training, once the cadets reach sexual maturity. relationship attachments are rare, they don't really have boyfriends or girlfriends, nor husbands and wives, any clanner can have sexual intercourse with any other clanner at any time without any form of prior or continual attachment there after.

Within the lower casts the clans pair up males and females in accordance with there genetic compatibility to produce better offspring, they may be freebirths but the clans still practice selective breeding. They live together as a family unit. Outside of that they do not care one iota how a member of the clans gets there rocks off. So long as it dose not impair work productivity and protection is used so that unauthorized freebirths are not brought into clan society. (still happens form time to time). It may be creepy to you from a real life/inner sphere perspective, but from a clan perspective this is of no concern to anyone, at any level of socaty.

Generally the lower castes tend to live more like the Inner Sphere people, but i am not sure about this area of life.

Anyway, sex is often described as a "gift" given to a friend. Indeed, Ranna Kerensky had sex with Vlad because she wanted to talk with him .. About her love for Phelan, a sentiment rarely encountered in the Clans.

Well, yes and no.. However i assure you that the scientists responsible for the eugenetics program of each Clan must be well aware of the risks of inbreeding and know what they are doing in their mixing of genes :P
