What I cant understand about these clans is what posessed PGI to sell them for 50+ per alacarte and 500 for gold mechs? Seriously? 500 bucks for a single piece of ingame coding? I can sorta see 20-30, but 50? 500!? seriously?

Whether they're overpriced or not, it's worth noting that you're getting 3 variants of each chassis you buy. Aside from the gold mechs, at their most expensive (a single a la carte purchase), it's $16 per mech, including a mech bay.

Also guys, don'T let yourself get fooled by marketing,

It could easily be that the treshold of goldmechs was 50. So lets say after one month they sold 30. 20 left. Then maybe 2 month later they updated the site saying "less than 50". "less than 50" does not mean they made that announcement right wenn it was 49.
Now we are less than 5. But can be, that already one week after the "less than 50" announcement the left TW's could have been 7 or even 3.

Its all a bit about marketing strategy and shortage. Could also totally be only a strategic hoax.

Because there is "0" left of "The Completionist Package" on RSI , I can believe some gold mechs were sold. Though it surprised more about the $500 mech sales than the $15,000 ship package for some reason.

Not once did I believe there was a limited number of gold mechs available, and I certainly don't believe the marketing lies now. How would we even know if another four have sold? They can just as easily say "0 remaining" and stop letting people buy them as they can show a proper counter showing the exact number left (which, if they wanted any trust from their customers to begin with, is what they would have done). But nope, a vague "less than 50! buy now!" type of message, followed by a "less than 5" sticker slapped onto the purchase page. Not buying it literally, and not buying it metaphorically.

How about a list of names of people to ignore that have bought $500 clan mechs? Not so we can try to flame or harass them, but so we have proof people actually bought them, and in the numbers officially stated. This would bring up a ton of problems, but I've seen a bunch of other F2Ps do similar systems and it worked out just fine. Were those players harassed? Of course. GMs gave a bit higher priority on tickets from them, and rightfully so, and honestly, is an ignore feature so hard?

Thanks for reminding me, I still need to throw money at that space-themed version of the titanic before it sets sail too. I thought MWO's was a bit much, but damn... All that unnecessary, over-exaggerated cockpit movement will be so fun.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I DO remember at least one game having done a list of people that bought the Ridiculously Overpriced Special Cool Kid Item, but I don't even remember which game(s) anymore. Oh well. ROSCKI is a cool acronym and is what should be used to refer to gold mech pilots. Because I said so.

I supported with like 35 in MC and another 55 for a shiny, semi grubby looking Warhawk....

But 500 bucks for a single mech? dayum

$500 gives you that one gold mech plus all 24 mechs that are in the Masakari package. So 25 mechs total.

Not when they first announced them they didn't. It was JUST that one gold mech, nothing else. Glad to see they at least wisened up and basically are now offering the masakari pack + a $260 gold skin... Though I didn't see any 'upgrade' option on the page for people who already ordered one of the other packs, I guess those that wanted to bling it up on day 1 (the fact they were still MONTHS out makes it that much better) paid $740, and hopefully had to get a refund.

I would consider spending the $500 if it came with all eight of the gold mechs and not just one. As of now I am just getting the Masakari pack.

But then it's less exclusive. Somehow.

If I bought two $500 gold mechs do I just get one Maskari package with 24 mechs or do I get two for 48 mechs?

I would assume two since it's supposed to be included in the gold mech purchase. That'd be quite a bit of c-bills, but do you honestly want to pay $760 for two gold mechs and some c-bills?

I mean yeah, you could do multiple configurations of the same CT variant of a mech (if my understanding of the system is correct anyway), but I'm pretty sure most people would just sell them outright for the quick c-bills.

EDIT:

If he gets 1 meter less tall than as intended, he is still nearly as long as a stalker. Easy to hit from every angle like a living room armoire...

Look, PGI has this well-oiled machine perfectly balanced, and even the slightest alteration from exactly how they intended it to function is likely to cause a complete collapse of society as a whole. Trust me, I'm just some troll.

Yes, because heaven god damn forbid we have Assault mechs actually be something to FEAR on the battlefield.

OMG, your poor little LOCUST cant just come up and circle jerk it.......oh dear god the humanity!!!

Im so damn tired of games doing that...making the big ****..."over nerfed" balanced, so the little crap can just face roll it.....yeah...its old and its ********. In that sense I kinda like the older MW games, they make the big crap the good stuff. Only thing they ever dropped the ball on was giving lighter stuff a purpose in game. Right now it seems the real way to win this game is get good at the circle jerk...get an Uller with 2 UAC20s on it and circle jerk the assaults in the ass and repeat till you run out of ammo.

I bought the gold TW mostly to thank the Dev's for actually including private matches when they said they would months ago. You can make demands but it only makes sense to reward progress if you have the ability to do so. Can't say I agree with all the things going on with the game, but when push comes to shove, I still enjoy MWO more than a lot of other games despite its flaws and just maybe someday it will be what it could be today.
