Reporting enemy movement requires typing, which at the very least means standing still or running in a strait line... something no light mech ever wants to do, and most other mechs would like to avoid.

normally they can cycle through targets, making them appear on the map for other players, but ecm negates this.

So i suggest a button that will put a marker on the map, something skin to a seismic reading, where-ever the cursor is aimed.

So when that light sees the two d-dcs and there friends on the flanking route they aim at the ground near them, hit the mark movement button, and a red blob appears on the map roughly where they aimed the cursor. this say lasts 3 seconds, and can be done as many times as necessary.

This will allow 'manual' scouting to be practical without the need of voice comms.

something lust be done with reporting enemy movement...as light prefered player I really struggle a lot to inform teammates about movement of enemies... right now, it is impossible to do it fast and stay alive.

Exactly, if you had a single button press to lay down a marker on the map you'd be able to more or less safely report here movement.

We'd see alot more scouting, since it'd tribute towards victory and cost the lightmechs nothing, even if it wasn't deliberate scouting that guy on the end of the line that sees 6 mechs bearing down on him could get off a warning.

I may not drive lights, but I do like to watch flanks, and do some scouting in my mediums. I love this idea. Maybe make it last a little more than 3 seconds?

Maybe be able to press the button, then a number, so the indicator and number will come up, saying there are 7 in e5?

Been asking for something here for a while.
Once tried suggesting new equipment, still think my idea for the BattleGrid is best. Allow a player to click on a grid square in the BattleGrid to indicate enemy positions.

This has the same problem as typing, thou making the battlegrid useful, it'd still require you to stop, bring up the grid and click on it, which is worse then typing, since you not only have to stop, but are blind for the duration.

Longer then 3 seconds probably 5? 10? 15? I dunno, depending on how it functions in the actual game.

I like the idea of pressing a number with it, but has the same taking your fingers off the movement keys problem, whereas if they just let us mash it a bunch of times.

Sooo... basically you want Q-spotting in the game.

I don't know what q spotting is....

I wanna be able to point my crosshairs at a piece of ground, hit a button, and have a marker on the map where I pointed my crosshairs.

We need some practical way to report enemy movements.
