Not sure where else this would fit but an entire matched just went to lag hell, for everyone. Anyone else getting this? Is it the game server?

Nine times out of ten it's a routing issue in the eastern parts of North America. I'll do a traceback on your IP and see if we are experiencing any bad routing.

Update: I am seeing weird little blips in both our router and Comcast's network. Looks like basic jitter; but I am going to call Comcast's NOC and see if we can find out why.

it happens to me occasionally, and many UK/EU players have the same problem, I am guessing it is far worse for the Asia/Australia area players.

what usually happens to me is I will get perhaps 5 -10 seconds where I am teleporting like crazy then it stabilizes, occasionally it does not stabilize and I crash to the mechlab

Don't get me started on BT; but the problem for you was pretty apparent. Once the traffic leaves our network it hits an unnamed node between us and NTT (which carries BT traffic to North America); Level3 owns that IP; and there is only one company I hate more then BT and it's Level3. I'll see if I can start to remove them from our peering point.

Level3 causes the most lag from New York state to Ontario, Canada; you get 70ms all the way to New York from BT.

Isn't that because that L3 facility is a known NSA data acquisition node?

Ah well, it happened about 5 min in (maybe even earlier) at which point it was so bad that you could move around but with many 'teleports' moving you back a fair portion of your progress. You could shoot, aim, JJ, everything, except actually hit anyone. Everyone else would be standing still, doing something random, or walking in place, shooting, spinning, etc. It lasted til the end of the game at which point the game continued after it ended and seemed to be trying to play catch up to the lag.

Next game turned out to be fine but with it affecting the whole match I feared the worst.

If you are having trouble typing, that's not a network problem. If the forum is loading slowly that could be a network problem. Make sure you don't have a virus and don't have too many programs using all your ram.

I'm in the midwest just south of toronto and my ping has been abnormally high as well. Even had a team kill tonight due to weird clipping/lag issues that has left me disheartened and disgusted.

this happens to me every 5 minutes or so also. my ping can be sitting pretty at like 80 then jump to 900 for no reason for like 15 seconds then back to normal. Didn't start happening until like a week ago.
