It's still as Hellen Wheels said: you can't rely on what is shown.

I could have phrased that better:

YOU might be able to rely on what is shown on your screen, but *I* certainly cannot.

YMMV

Make sure Enhance Pointer Precision in Windows is switched to off.

This is mouse acceleration, and it means moving the mouse quickly 1 inch moves your crosshair much farther than were you to move the mouse 1 inch slowly.

The slider for smoothness should be set to the highest setting, all the way right.

Mouse smoothing is negative acceleration, so you want that turned of in the game, as well.

Can you guys please keep this thread on topics. The guy was asking for tips on aiming, not for a flame war to start.

Good advice - but how? I've got people telling the new guy that HSR doesn't work, and insulting me for asking them for some kind of backing for this extraordinary claim. Do I just let them misinform him in the name of peace?

Of course, like Plodder says, I think he's gone - he never responded after the first round of suggestions, so hopefully something worked and he's got his issue fixed.

He did log in about a half hour ago, so he's seen the suggestions if he wants/needs them.

Another common problem for mouse-aimed shooting is strong/stiff buttons. I had to replace my mouse because although it worked well in other games, the springs (etc) for M1 and M2 were so strong that you could not click them without nudging the crosshair off target just as you clicked - even after makign adjustments to its sensitivity in game. I eventually discovered the source of the problem when I experimented with using a keyboard button as my fire switch (space bar, in my case) and suddenly I stopped missing those long sniping shots. Replacing my mouse with one that was heavier (in weight) and smoother (in button pressing) dramatically improved my long distance accuracy.

Do you have any videos showing your issue with missiles (and have you experienced it after the frame-throttle fix) or a known issue report I missed seeing?

I don't have access to a PC that is capable of handling game + recording, aside from the fact that the game is barely optimized for performance in the first place (people with really good machines tend to get like 60 fps tops). Also, I don't know what this frame-throttle-fix is, so don't know.
Rambling on why I didn't care:
Spoiler

But I agree on the fairy thing. It's good to see someone sane for a change.

As for armlock. On my jester and C1 it makes gameplay harder when it is off as my eye has trouble keeping track of both reticules. I have armlock off on my Shadowhawk and firestarter as I can aim the arm weapons separately.

Yeah, you're going to run into pro-arm lock people like me, and anti-arm lock people.

Just a different play style to be honest, rather subjective.

Damnable subjectivity and relativity!

I wish I could give you some good advice, but deflection shooting is very instinctual with me. This is really nice when I am out hunting and gaming, but no so helpful while trying to help other.
