Matchmaking is getting tedious, we ever gonna get a fix? or is this it, crutch mode for groups?.
No balance what-so-ever, fundamental part of the game and its never been right.

Time put grouped players in their own queue and solo players in a separate queue.
No wonder no-one uses the 12-man queue, why would you when you can just drop with other groups against lone wolves.

3/3/3/3 won't fix the issue, separate queues might though, and i think it should atleast be tryed.

Yes we all know the MM is borked now, and has been for quite some time. This is not news to anyone. It's great to have a new thread about it every three days. What bothers me and some of my unit-mates is that it seems to be getting worse since the first quad-3 patch attempt. It's as if the secondary weight matching algorithm is regressing into non-functionality. Not to mention, PGI hasn't even tried to put in the one team per side rule (is that the part that doesn't work well, or is it the quad-3 restriction?) as this weekend I witnessed sometimes 3 premades to a side, and mostly 2 4-mans per side with my lance not being the evil premade in Bravo lance.

Basically they're going to have to take MM back to the drawing board and re-do the whole thing. 3x4 just won't work as it stands.

Yes, it does seem odd that information about what is going on seems to be spread around twitter, podcasts, and rare forum posts. It takes some effort to bring it all together to find out what is upcoming, but then again so what? It's just a game.

If I recall they said they would have to code it from scratch (the existing matchmaker would not work with 4x3). I don't know who works on which features, but it would not surprise me to hear it is the same guy who is currently rewriting the SRMs from scratch.

I believe his point was 3/3/3/3 is good, but will change nothing without separating pugs and pre mades which I agree. I simply don't click play now or just log out if I don't have a premade now tells you all you need to know about pugging if someone who has been here less then 2 months can't stomach it.

I wouldn't mind having Match Making that can create games that are anything but 3x4.

An all Assault mech game. It would be fair, right?

Or a game that is all 4 lights, 4 mediums, and 4 heavies, with no assaults.

Or even the odd game of All Lights.

Are they seriously asking for unrestricted grouping in the public queue? Guess the MM isn't lopsided enough for them.
So i guess we will be waiting for the next year for new MM code, just like everything else that hasn't got a price tag attached.

Well they have to recode the MM anyway, might as well make it a new system of unrestricted groups vs unrestricted solos. What floors me is why they don't go back to using the class matching used in closed and open beta, until we got Elo. Seems to me that worked just fine, or if you don't think so, at least worked much better than what we currently have. The code already exists for that. Or they could switch the priorities and make class matching first, then use Elo.
