At first glance it looks like a CN9-YLW married a CN9-AH and then adopted superman. It can definitely bring some heat to the field, but it is 5 tons lighter and in the less defensible BJ chassis. But as a Blackjack fan, I don't think I can pass this one up.

EDIT - I guess it was too good to be true, although 6 ballistic and 3 energy is still something I can work with, especially if it can house a 250+ engine.

I don't get this statement at all. Why is ADDING more stuff to the game a bad thing?

All mech chassis need a hero mech. Now there is another design for the BlackJack.

Most of the lights need a hero mech version.

Enough with the silly idea that 3D mech artists have to stop working or be laid off because that magically speeds up bug fixes and new gamplay features...done by programmers and not 3D artists.

Did i say that? No.

Its particulary not a bad thing. But it's all about 'image'. The image i get is 'cashgrabbing'. Pump each patch a 'superb' Hero mech with some amazing lore. "Buy the new Hero mech because it's all part of the game."

Don't get me wrong. I like new mechs too, but they're building some bad marketing here. It's not like 3D artists can do only one thing. Like i said before: Their is a hoge list of broken things. Including excisting maps and mechs. i am sure their resources can be put somewhere else instead of working on MC mechs all the time. For example; fixing assets in maps. Or anything else.

I already min-maxed out the main build that just about EVERYONE will put on the hero BJ.

-XL255 engine
-2 ERLL, one per side torso (probably higher mount than the CT?)
-6 MGs, 2 tons of ammo
-4 external DHS
-3 JJs
-Max armor except for -1 point from each leg


There might be a few hipsters who try alternate builds, but overall I think this one above seems like the cream of the crop.

It does have 1 advantage over the Donald-Duck (yes I know about the jump jets...) - the Blackjack's energy hardpoints in the side torsos at least are higher mounted...

I'm probably looking at 2x AC5, 4x MG, and maybe 3 small lasers.

At that point wouldn't you have the same speed as a heavy mech, though (with less armor and firepower)? That kind of defeats the point of being a medium.

was hoping for a new heavy, Grasshopper. a mech that can jump farther than any other heavy with just 2 specialized jump jets 120 meters in a single bound, approx. 394 feet :PPosted Image

And 2 tons of ammo will be pretty light in my opinion.


Do we know the stock engine/max engine size yet?

Silly Bishop, run-of-the-mill poptarts don't use the Goose Rifle!


Also, I don't know if PGI would knowingly make a trial mech have a poptart build. That would be epic. Actually, for that reason, I think they should make EVERY trial mech into a poptart. Many lulz would be had that day.

Another lore-breaking Hero mech build that won't be used for Stock events, good to know yet again. It would make sense if they were available only in a Solaris Arena Mode or are we in a Solaris Arena Mode?

Dev team Check List for Hero 'Mechs:

[ ] Huge XL beyond original engine rating ?
[ ] DHS ?
[ ] Solaris build ?


So unoriginal man, but that's the hole the game has dug itself into by design. I would be surprised if it actually has a paintscheme or unit symbol of the 8th Deneb Light Cavalry RCT.

Most BJs have an engine cap max of 235. I've complained before (in the archaic feedback threads of lore) that the engine cap is TOO LOW and needs to be increased to 255. I doubt Paul will make that happen, but we'll see.

MGs are pretty efficient with ammo, and you probably won't live that long in close combat anyways.

Oh, oops. I was using the stats from the incorrect config that had 3 missile hardpoints (max of 255). That might throw a wrench in mah plans.
