I believe the Spider is theanswer to both questions. Someone who actually pilots them will tell you which specific variant though.

Spider 5V, I think? It can mount 12. I don't think I've seen another that can do that many.

The answer is 12 and the Spider 5V for both. 70 meters of distance.

If you're not thrilled with the Spider, check out the Quickdraw 4G, you can strap 7 jets on that and it's 60 tons.

My catapults can mount up to 4 JJ and TBH I have a hard time telling the difference between using 1 and all 4! So I end up using 1 JJ and put the 3 other tons to use on something else.

Yeah, Spider 5V, and with lights you can tell the difference.
Heavier mechs it's less noticable as they're harder to get off the ground, though I tend to find 2 is the sweet spot.

Spider 5V with 12 JJ you can literally fly around the map. And you can reach points on the maps that no other mech can.
I use it for my map guide pictures and it outclasses every other mech. On the other side, it gets outclassed when it comes to weaponry
