Hiya!

I don't think I qualify as a new player anymore but I have a question that may or may not be answered here. First, from the Clan Mech FAQ:

Q: Is there an opportunity to upgrade my Collection?
A: Yes, you may upgrade your Collection for the duration of the sale.

Now, the thing I am wondering is: HOW do I upgrade the pack?
The obvious answer would be that I just purchase the bigger pack, but I rarely take things for granted.

Also: Do I get the price from the first pack retracted from the price of the new pack or do I pay the full sum and receive a refund for my first purchase?

I'm planning on upgrading from Uller to Masakari, but I couldn't justify it to myself unless I got some answers to the things I don't know :D

Shoot ya laters!

I think your best bet is to contact support and find out how the upgraded purchase will work.

First log in on the main page
The click the link that takes you to the clan packs
The prices should reflect the fact that you bought something before and what you bought will no longer be available. I upgraded 3 times as I got paid each month.

On the clan page you should be able to find your package. Next to it will be "Owned" instead of "Purchase".

All the packages below will have "Owned", all above will be available for purchase.

The price of the pack you've already bought is deducted from any upgrades.

As the others have said, but to clarify since I upgraded mine...

I bought the Adder Pack - $150

Later upgraded to the Masakari pack.

Coming back to the page to upgrade - the Masakari pack was down from $240 to 90, showing that I had already bought the lower pack tiers.

IE: it discounts the higher packs based on which lower pack you bought

Says I am a mercenary who got really lucky betting on some unknown guy back in the 3020's, made enough to buy my own stable of mechs, started my own lone wolf mercenary company (of just me) and has been lucky enough to salvage clan mechs through intensively...what's their term? Dezgra? tactics :)

Would this also work if you only bought a single mech but wish to upgrade to a collection?

Far as I am aware - the Ala Carte purchases are completely unconnected to the Packages.

Contact support for that one? :)

Thanks for the replies guys. Still a bit on the fence as I'm having a blast plowing through my backlog of games. It's amazing how many games you miss out on when you, like me, zoom in on one game at a time for 6-12 months in a row :P

Looking forward to Clans and CW now :P

it isn't any problem either getting a massakari with ala carte purchase. contact support, tell em you will throw even more money to their feet, so they won't be hesitating too long.

<--- will be clan pilot :P

I'm an MWO veteran and even I didn't know this. I could have afforded and definitely been more inclined to buy the Clan pack while all the initial bonus items were available. Now I feel quite cheated by my own ignorance and a bit frustrated with this not being fully explained from the start. :)
