I'm having an issue after every match, when I exit the match, either due to being destroyed or after a win, where I sit @ the interim screen w/ the word 'Connecting' is on my screen next to the rotating circle. Nothing loads, I just sit there in some limbo. I have to Alt-F4 to exit the game, then log back in.

I really want to like this game, but it's frustrating when I have to log back in after every match. I've downloaded & ran the repair tool that a developer linked in another thread & that seemed to work for a bit, but this keeps coming back.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas...?

Thanks,

have you checked the power settings for your network adapter and other hardware? their was a Microsoft update that changed the settings to power saving mode. it did some wonky stuff to my wife's laptop. Go in to Device manager, Right click on your network adapter, select properties, go to power management tab, and turn off "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". also check all of the settings for your other hardware ie graph card . The power settings have fixed a few different problems. good old Microsoft strikes again. :D

I am also having this problem. It used to be at random, but this entire morning after EVERY single match I have to Alt F4 out of the program and restart.

It doesn't "freeze" it just stays on connecting with the icon rolling. This problem existed long before the recent patches, now it's worse. I'll keep bumping this until it's fixed.

How in the world would that make a difference? Not only is it false, doesn't work, but has nothing to do with anything we're talking about here. The simple fact is that our connection is perfectly fine, the power adapter doesn't change while freezing in connecting, and obviously you haven't tried this otherwise you wouldn't suggest it. This is a glitch on the developer's end.

It's been happening to me all morning as well. Ur not the only person who's made a thread about this. For me, there's some slight chance that the mech lab will load properly after I exit a match. I'd say ~20%. Other 4 out of 5 times, I gotta Alt-F4 and restart the client.

I get this bug almost all every time I try to log out of MWO. Also, I would get a bug where you could launch on the Training Grounds, but the screen would stay dim and stuck on loading, even though you could control your mech and destroy the target mechs. I was never able to exit the Training Grounds either, without killing MWO in Task Manager. Completely reinstalling MWO fixed the Training Ground issue, but not the logging out issue.

I just started playing this game yesterday. I didn't have this problem yesterday but now after every match I too am stuck on the transition screen with the "Connecting" icon spinning away. I've tried waiting it out but nothing. I also end up having to force a game close and log back in which is really annoying. There's really no point in playing this game let alone investing in it with stupid bugs like this.

It seems to have worsened now. After every game I play today I'm getting stuck there. On top of that, sometimes when I log in - ya know, after having to Alt-F4 to close & then get back in to play - I'm now getting stuck @ connecting to the mech lab when I log back in. So it's getting me in both places, tho that one not as often. I've been (trying) to play for about 3 hrs today & have only managed 7 games in that time due to this issue.

I can't even log in at all. I type my login in and password and it just has the connecting with the little circle next to it. I've rebooted my modem, computer and router and I can get online just fine, just not into the game. I've put about $200 into this game. FIX YOUR GAME PGI!!!

Getting this error as well 3 or 4 times out of say 10 matches. Very annoying.

because it has helped others with their problems. see links below. first one is network adapter power settings, second one is video adapter settings that's why I suggested it.

I'm also having this problem (about 6-7 times out of 10 matches) and it really ruins the gaming experience. I tried the solution suggested by Shamous13, but I couldn't find the "Power Management" tab for the network adapter (I'm using Win 8.1). Can anyone help out, please?

Im having the same issue, especially after yesterdays patch. It has gotten worse now, before the patch i got stuck on "connecting" maybe 1/10 matches, now it's more like 8/10. I tried the solution suggested above but it didnt work.

One of the noticeable things about Windows 8/8.1 systems is how quickly they turn on or off. Provided that your hardware supports it, there is a new power management scheme. Microsoft calls it “Connected Standby”. It is a different way of managing power compared to the conventional “Sleep” or “Hibernate” states.
The new way to manage power has characteristics familiar to users of tablets and smartphones. Turning a system off does not completely disconnect power from the system but leaves it in a state that can resume almost instantly. The system remains in a very low power state but maintains an Internet connection and constant access to the cloud. If you carry your PC to a new locale, the system will automatically look for a new Wi-Fi connection. According to Microsoft, apps such as Skype, Lync, and others in the Windows store, notify the user in real-time of an incoming request or call while the system is in Connected Standby. Apps may also deliver push notifications to alert the user to news events, weather alerts, or instant messages.
Since notifications in the middle of the night may not be welcome, Windows 8.1 introduces something called "Quiet Hours" that allows the user to define a period of time each day where notifications and background tasks should be suppressed. Quiet Hours can be configured in Settings under Apps -> Notifications. Click the thumbnail to see an example of this new Windows 8.1 setting.
Only recent hardware will support Connected Standby. For example, I have a laptop that is three years old, which I have updated to Windows 8 from Windows 7. It does not support the new power management but it still boots up and shuts down more quickly than it did when it was running Windows 7.
If you have a Windows 8 system but are not sure if it supports Connected Standby, you can check what settings are available by using the command line.
 • Use the keyboard shortcut Winkey+R to open a Run box
 • Enter “cmd” (without quotes) to open a command prompt
 • Enter “powercfg /a” (without quotes)
 • Available power states will be shown.
In Windows 8.1, right-click the new start button, select “Command Prompt”, and go to step 3 above.

Connected Standby actually consists of a number of stages. If you are interested in the details, Microsoft has published a 34-page Word document describing Connected Standby. A download link for the document is on this Microsoft page.

and something else to check,

Actually, you do need to install Directx 9c. Vista/7/8 comes with DX 10/11 and a base version of dx9. The issue is that MS does not include all the latest modules for dx 9c, nor are the DX10/11 backward compatible. Even a fresh XP install will require DX 9c installation for those updated modules.

DX 10/11 and DX 9c are located in their own subfolders, they do not overwrite each other. Programs and games are set to locate the necessary files from their respective location.

MWO currently utilizes ONLY dx9c files, thus the need to install dx 9c with either the dxsetup.exe (small file that downloads everything from MS) or the redistribution file (large file but useful if installing on several machines or need to reinstall to replace possible corrupted files).

http://www.microsoft...ls.aspx?id=8109

Or

http://www.microsoft...ails.aspx?id=35

You will notice that it supports more than just XP.

Most games that come on a CD/DVD will also have a setup to install the updated modules by using one of the paths. For other games that are download only, they direct you to MS to download (using that site's bandwidth instead of their own) and perform the installation, from a trusted source ( hehe Microsoft..: )

Start with this and let us know how you make out.

^^^ I am having the exact same problems as the above. I have done the suggested fixes posted earlier to no avail. I can log in just fine, but if I try to start a match... no joy. Just searches for no longer than 30 seconds, usually far less, then hits "Connecting..." with the little spinning jobby, and that's all she wrote. Sometimes waits about 120 seconds before hopping back to the mechlab, Other times it just sits there for well over 10 miniutes. Additionally, the selected 'Mech is put into some kind of "Currently In Match" limbo, so I cannot re-select it. So I select another 'Mech, to similar results. This is occuring with any 'Mechs used- Clan, IS, Phoenix, it's all the same result.

I just started playing this game last night and I'm really having fun.

It's running very smoothly for me on one of my two GTX 680s (4GB VRAM) on the highest settings with vsync, minus the anti-aliasing; there doesn't seem to be SLI support, but it doesn't seem to matter for me, other than it REALLY heating up my bedroom due to the strain on one card.

The one consistent problem that is happening to me though is: Anytime I unlock an achievement or get some sort of bonus C-Bill thing, which is frequent right now, since I'm a new player, after the match, I get stuck on "Connecting." I have to Alt+F4 and restart. Now, I'm not sure if I'm losing out on those bonus C-Bills since I force close the game, but the real problem is the freeze.

Thanks! ;)

Checked this and a couple other threads.

Win7-64, the 'allow power down' of Network card *was* enabled/on, however turning it off did not help the problem.

Running RepairTool did not help, in fact if anything, the Connecting loop bug happens more after I did the above two fixes (or the latest patch, whatever).

One thread *did* suggest actually installing DirectX 9c because Win7 only has plain DX9. This may have helped, so far out of roughly 10 matches this morning, I have had 6 Connecting loop bugs but no graphics freezes.

Currently the Connecting loop bug is bad enough that even though my 1 day free premium is active, I think I'll just play STO or TSW... games I can depend on to work.

Same problem here, yesterday everythin runs fine. Now, I can't get in any match... the last thing I see ist the connecting-screen.

For example, the training grounds is working normal.

Please fix this, it's frustrating. Just started playing with MWO after a loooong time and now this... :-(
