Bueller? Bueller? Anybody?

If you want a viable future, you gotta make sure you keep people coming into the game. You think new players (who aren't mech fans) are going to stick with MWO if they can't figure out the Mechlab?

Your picture did not work. We can't see what you are pointing out. Although most of us agree with you about the mechlab.

He's just picking on the flaws on some one the mechlab. Nothing really game breaking but annoying.

It took a couple of weeks to know where to go in Mechlab.

You should be able to Mechlab your current mech without reselecting it. See what is on all of it while you actively modify it. Complete it (the whole thing) before buying anything so you don't waste your CBills because you had one less critical than you thought. Those are the big problems to solve.

Forgot about it not removing items, but saving and not letting you play.

(Fixed image above - should work now)

My point is that the average new player would rather play another game than figure out the conundrum that is the Mechlab. I'm just wondering if it would be easy to make a quick-fix and change the functionality to more closely match Smurfy. Now's the time for this type of band-aid, since I'm assuming the Clan release is going to generate new interest.

Piranha should just give up. Direct everyone to Smurfy to build their mechs and then import in a Link from Smurfy to build/buy their mechs. Everyone is happy and Piranha can spend their time doing what they do best: ART and hiding from what they can't do CODE.

I'm sure the code for this engine is no piece of cake - I'm just wondering how easy it would be to make the Mechlab a "paper doll" format, like Smurfy. If it is a simple task, then I'd consider it a low cost, high reward priority, as it'd help retain new players.

The UI for the non game play (outside of shooty shooty pew pew swoosh) Is amongst the worst in any game I've ever played. It's a misery to use, and one of the reasons I don't play more often. There's a large amount of garbage taht they could move from the lab to a mech details area for those that are interested.

They seriously need to clean the UI up in order to keep new players, I've been with MW and btech for over 2 decades and it's barely holding me in. The actual gameplay is in a decent state currently (imo) just clean up the backyard, it's filled wih junk.

Most other incarnations of Mechwarrior had all sections of your mech visible at once, with a nice drag and drop list for components.

I really miss that in MWO.

Yeah, Smurfy is more like the original Mechlab.....Atleast the first mechlab, you click a section on your mech you ATLEAST knew what you were editing. it put you right over that section of the mech and lit it up.

This new one you cant even see the mech at all.

Sorry missed it. I saw this and expected they were working on it. I was looking where they stash the regular components.

KFX-PRIME is a clan mech and they are not completly supported yet. Please report bugs you may encounter.

They misspelled completely fwiw.
