This teasing stuff is never good PR... Just keep that in mind Paul.

As long as we get one or the other tomorrow, I certainly won't mind.

I'm quite optimistic about both of these things. Pity about the clan LBX ammo switch, but at least we can still switch them out. Once it gets smoothed out, I wonder if we can get the IS PPC bumped to 8 / splash 1 (total 10) or something similar in much the same way that you're describing the clan PPC...

Regarding the LBX/AutoCannon thing - are you going to make players buy both LBX + AC? How is this going to work with stock configurations? If you're entertaining suggestions, I'd recommend that you keep the LBX in-game as normal (normal cost, appears on all stock configurations, etc) and make the AC versions free - then you could just delete them later. It's the least amount of hassle for all involved.

Thanks for clarifying the "slug" reference on the LBX, btw. I was hoping it would be burst, just like the rest of the clan ACs!

It does use burst with slugs, doesn't it?

For example, the Clan LB 2-X will fire a cluster round totalling 2 damage. The Clan AutoCannon/2 will fire a 2 round volley with each slug doing 1 damage for a total of 2 damage.

Yes, that is what I am excited about. Making the "slug" version burst is much better than making it like the IS ACs.

it also makes the clbx more appealing. because it fires all its rounds at once.

Right. You can fire the shells as a spread burst or duration burst - cannot wait until we can toggle that on the fly, though!

Hi Paul, does this mean the Atlas D-DC loses ECM? It's been forever, but as I remember that thing got ECM in the first place as a fill-in for the command console which didn't exist.

Now that the command console is going to be reintroduced, will you remove ECM from the Atlas DDC?

Would be awesome if you did!

It's still the best (or tied for the best) Atlas even without the ECM.

Hmmm...Targeting Computer makes sense. This is kinda what I was expecting and is in the same spirit of the original rules for it.

However the Command Console design seems like a missed opportunity improving information warfare.

I was hoping it would allow mechs equipped with a CC to rely info to their teammates easier, perhaps by boosting sensor range of all friendly mechs within 200 meters by 25% or by allowing the player swap to 1st person spectator mode at any time during the match (to see what friendly units are seeing). Or anything really that improve team play instead of just being an IS version of the targeting computer.

I personally think the founders Atlas is the best one because of the +25% cbills. Because even when you lose you still get cbills like you won.

Well...because you can fit more LRMs on it, duh. I mean, what's the point of having a D-DC if it's not a douchetastic LRM boat?

Sure, if you're able to get a match that isn't completely filled with pop-tarts and boats, then I'm sure a brawler build would be awesome.....it simply doesn't work unless you can avoid the matchmaker's ability to load teams with complete noobs.

And, even though these ideas for the TC and CC are interesting, I'm not going to hold my breath. With PGI's record of delivering content, I expect BOTH of these things to be half-finished by the time of release....an apology will be sent out stating that they knew both were broken and there will be a "hotfix" soon...said "hotfix" will fix one or two issues with the CC and TC, but will also break the HSR and/or matchmaker (as if there's a matchmaker anymore in the first place).

On the bright side, though, even with all the broken content being release....you can expect some serious cash-grabbing this next patch.

Nope, PGI is nothing if not consistent.

Targeting Computer sounds reasonable, but Command Console definitely needs buffing. As much as I despise arty and air strikes, perhaps additional module slots is the best way to emulate the command aspects its meant to offer in MWO terms.
