EDIT: that topic was supposed to say "odd Battle of Tukkayid Question" .... absent mindedness strikes again

ok i've read ALOT of the books so far and i have searched and searched online for this, but does anyone know how "Tukkayid" is pronounced? it doesn't seem like a name that just rolls off the tongue easily.

The spelling is actually "Tukayyid", and FWIW I've always pronounced "too-kai-id"/"too-kay-id".

Listening to the book-on-tape (Kerensky Vol 3) I think that guy pronounced it Tuk-ah-yeed.. when I listen to more of it, I'll correct myself If I'm wrong.

Because saying the most important battle of Inner Sphere was fought on planet Bob sounds not as epic.

I think its Russian, at least that's what I remember reading somewhere, that right there would explain why it doesn't just roll off the tongue but I could be wrong about it being Russian.
Oh, also, you spelled it wrong, its 'Tukayyid'.

When heading to a planet, pronunciation is secondary, putting the correct spelling into your flight controller is more imporant however. "Tukkayid" indeed....
