I'm sure this old news to all you guys, but MY GOD. Please change it back to the way it was, or anything loosely sensible.

The only way to view all my slots in all my locations, I can't change anything.

In order save my changes I need to "checkout", wut? Had to search the internet for that.

Why is it so hard to see simple things like how much tonnage I have left?

When I want to filter to only mechs I own, "trial" mechs and champion mechs show too? Cute. I get it that you want me to buy stuff, but I'm seriously not buying anything until I can nagigate around your game without a headache.

Searching on some of these issues....I see that people have been complaining about this for 6 months. And you haven't fixed it yet? Just.......wtf.

Yes, they seriously need to get a user experience expert to help them make it better. The number of clicks it takes to do the simplest of things is pretty atrocious.

Ya, they have a smurfy view in the UI, but you can only look at it. Some day they will let you customise your mech using it, some day....

I don't know. It's bad, but I've gotten used to it honestly. modding a mech is difficult but I've adapted. The most annoying still is that I can't find that XL330 I KNOW I have somewhere.

Handy Tip #1369: Rename your mech with your engine size/type.

If you check the inventory page it should show under equipment. If it's not there, then it's not in your garage, but in a mech, and now you need to go on an easter egg hunt to find it. I don't think they allow the mechs view in the inventory section to show you which engine is in them.

Or they could take any random person who hasn't played MWO and sit and watch them use the UI and play for an hour while taking notes. I seriously think that's all it would take.

I know it's in a mech, that was my point. I don't know which of my 55 mechs it's in.

That's a good idea. I might do that at least for my valuable XLs. Thanks.

Seriously, if you're having trouble I would look into user error.

It's not the most intuitive however it works fine.

Yeah, I wish. I think you are limited to 16 characters or something. So....

Mech details view should let you find it pretty quickly.

What he said. It makes the new GUI a whole lot more manageable.

Well, yeah. It should be on the hover info pane though. Checking a mech via "mech details" takes 3 clicks and time. It would take longer than I'd like to check all my mechs. It's not that it can't be done. It's that it is 9x harder than it needs to be.

Well you can screen by mech speed as well, which takes 1 click and a single glance. I'm not saying the system isn't more cumbersome than it should be, but it would probably take me less than 3 minutes to find your 330 for ya.

CapperDeluxe (Yes, they seriously need to get a user experience expert to help them make it better. The number of clicks it takes to do the simplest of things is pretty atrocious. )

I tried to help PGI but it has fallen on deaf ears since the beginning of closed beta.

The difference now is that it will be easier to implement changes to the UI/Mechlab than the old version. No news on when that will happen (after clans/CW probably), but at least the architecture is there now.

Confession: I know exactly where my XL330 is. But I had to find it last week and it wasn't fun. Yeah, less than 3-4 minutes is great but with a "Inventory" list it should take no more than 10 seconds.

I keep no engines or modules in anything but what I am piloting at that moment.

Never lose anything that way.

If the only thing you have to put in your mech is an engine, modules, and potential Heat Sinks in said Engine, the time it takes to switch to another mech is roughly 90 seconds; it that.

I made most of my money selling extra engines; only need one this way (except I am starting to collect 4 of each for potential drop ship mode, but I am sure I have 2-3 years to do that).
