For me? Tuxedo paint scheme. I'd buy immediately.
Dapper commando? Check!
Dapper Atlas? Sure! (it would look like Odd Job from James Bond lol)

that's a really sweet idea
I'd love to see:
- A sunburst pattern (something like the Yen Lo Wang's paint scheme)
- one with lots of battle damage and scarring - something like the Misery look, but with a bit more variety in the types of damage - like a leg charred to the ankle etc
- a funky chalkboard style camo - black with lots of writing all over the mech - like kill markings on the weapon pods and and funny details - like they did with the buccaneer camo
- there was one really funny camo pattern in MW4... if i memory serves me it was white with colorful dots all over the mech - can't find a screenshot, will upload later if I can. I'd love to see that one again, it was so troll xD
- and finally I'd love to see and "unpainted" look. A pattern showing the metal in all it's shiny glory. Example:

As has been mentioned,
- The specific Camo's from every Faction and Unit are listed at the Camospecs site.
- They are taken from everything that is listed within the Lore, Books, stories, and any other 'official' reference material.
Mostly these specify a base colour, with sometimes a secondary colour, and the trim colour. There are specified colour schemes for each Faction, Clan and some additional Units, with sub categories for the various elements within each organization .
- The primary Unit sets the colours and the sub units have variations of most of these colours, with a few exceptions.
Now, this is a massive list of Camo's with nearly every Unit listed within the Lore or Tech/Reference manuals, so may be something that takes PGI quite a while to get the artists to build.
- I would be happy with the pre-sets of Woodland, Jungle, Desert, Winter, Urban, Special Unit as a start. And allow us to 'fill in the selected colours' to the set locations.
- These should be available to be selected at the 'Drop Ship' window or after the map location is known.
(ie; see the map location and then select the Camo to launch with.)
I think there should be some form of 'requirement' for some Factions to actually 'wear the Factions colours' into battle, and possibly granting a small bonus for this. (Similar to displaying the cockpit banner while fighting for the same Faction.)
- The Clans were quite specific about carrying there 'totem' displayed on there Mech's and displaying there own Clan colours.
- Merc's would also want to use there house colours for IFF and close in id's during battles.
Allowing every Pilots to colourfully display any paint scheme and colour while serving in a Faction should only be 'enabled' after they have proven themselves an excellent warrior, or moved up high enough in that Factions military to allow for that privilege.
- It should be something earned not just a free for all.
Yes, PGI will see a reduction in sales for camo's and colours, but when you've earned them, they feel so much better wearing.
Side note here:
IRL, you can now get stick on full size decals custom made for any vehicle. So that snake image paint job could now simply be printed off and applied, vehicle advertising has driven this product to full size applications now. The custom shops scan your vehicle and create the decal to perfectly fit the locations.

Heat sensitive paint. Changes as you overheat, or are hit by weaponfire... Cool is dark, the hotter the brighter... ect.
Glow Paint. Just like the white/yellow plastic and paint... hits or near misses with a light source cause it to glow a bright yellow/green for a bit then die down.
Dupli-Color like paintjob. The three colors chosen will be part of the color shift on the mech.

I'd also like to see a Crusader pattern (not the Clan faction). It'd be similar in spirit to Templar, but the cross would be much simpler and would be designed to splash over the chest on huminoids and on either flank of bird designs. I figure primary would be most of the mech, secondary would be the bulk of the cross, and tertiary would be a thin inner cross within the main cross. Tertiary could also include some trim bits (actuator joints and the like).
