- if Americans actually liked soccer they wouldn't have made Jurgen Klinsmann their coach, after he leaves quite literally the best soccer player in US history Landon Donovan off the World Cup team, then goes on record to say the US has no chance of winning the World Cup championship this year... maybe because he hamstrung what would have been the best US national team ever fielded. Our first legit chance to make a real showing in the World Cup and he screws it over because of his own ego over coaching the best US player ever. *ever*.
I hope he catches his nut sack in his zipper so badly he needs hospitalized.
You wonder why nobody in the US cares about soccer. This is why.

Yeah...that was a garbage decision. Pretty funny that he went in on Klinsmann in his first show after getting hired as an analyst for ESPN:

Unrelated question : what´s a TV ? Can it do what my PC can do ? No? Then I don´t need it
Eh, all of you should be grown up enough to decide where your priorities are, shouldn´t you ?
So Mechs it will be, leave soccer to itself (mostly because we can´t participate with mechs, but that´d be another train of thought)

I will be watching and playing or just recording, but I hold zero hope for the Australian team, wrong football world cup for us to expect to get anywhere...

It's called expectation management. US will have a chance of winning the cup some time in the future, but this year? If Klinsmann says no it's probably because it's not realistic. Your group is really tough by the way, you'll have to deliver some upsets to beat Portugal for second place.
And if your team is in the progress of building for the future, there is no sense in building it around a 32 year old forward/midfielder with his best days far behind him. And old merits does not guarantee a place on the pitch, if that was the case you should fall down on your knees and beg Klinsmann to suit up for you instead.
Klinsmann is good at what he does, he layed a really good foundation on the German national team for Joachim Löw to continue with. I expect him to deliver the same level of thoroughness for the US. Just wait and see, a world cup is not something you bring home just because you want to.

I'm thinking they needed a name change over there, since when we talk about footy they think of that white oval ball they chase around the field wearing armour.
