Okay, there's a problem now. After I made the config file and added those values, the cockpit glass was gone, but the metal frame on the cockpit (Atlas) got skewed somewhat. It's just crooked now. Not gonna break the game, but still a little off putting. Which value is that anyway?

This is because of the cl_fov=85 play with the value or put a semicolon in front of it to disable this line, I play at 85 so when I'm zoomed in i can see a bit more.
;Field of View inside Cockpit 40-90 (Default:75)
cl_fov = 75

What's your FPS now?

Edit, This may help too Try Disableing CPU Core Parking Utility. see attached link.

Hot damn. FPS hanging around 50+, never dropping below 40. The game is completely different now and I can actually aim for the parts I need to hit.

Nice one Shamous, nice one indeed

Thanks, I've noticed a lot of performance problems with mwo recently have been caused by silly things 3rd parties do. ie the whole Microsoft power setting change for hardware. and now turbo boost :D

I have noticed a decrease in FPS recently. Is this power setting change a relatively new thing (ie, delivered through some Windows update)? Could you link me to some info if you don't mind?

I also had to roll back to the previous WHQL AMD drivers... noticed about 5-10 fps loss with the latest ones >.<

It was an issue that I found with my wife's computer that led me to it. it kept dropping the wireless connection for no reason. (While streaming bubble guppies for the kids off of you tube) it was pushed through by a microsoft update, and may have come through again. I suggested it to some others over the past few months, its helped some people. see the attached posts below. first one is network adapter power settings causing issues and the second one is video adapter power settings causing weird problems.

Yeah, heck at first when I updated from Windows 8 to 8.1, every game I had ran like crap. Found out that for no good reason the update changed the default graphics card away from my GeForce to the on board Intel graphics that come with the computer. Microsoft constantly assumes you want your PC to run like garbage.

Ah yes. Will check those settings when I get home. If MS is good for anything, it's messing with people :lol:
