I think people might just have to get used to the damage being higher...oddly, between the fact that Clans have more damage but not really more armor, and that both lines of tech are going to be intermixed, I think that it might be ok to just leave it all as-is. (also, it might actually be that enough people bought clans that PGI wont have to worry about it too much...guess we'll see around this time next week when people have had more exposure time in the actual in game environment.)
Disagree on the AC's Sure they are a terror against slow assaults, but against anything with even decent speed and torso twist (spent a tons of GXP leveling the nova and Stormcrow this afternoon), the damage gets spread like CRAZY.
In almost every single match I played on the PTR my damage was spread out 2-3x as much as in an IS mech.
As for the lasers, I do understand some peoples concern, but I would like more time to test it to see if it needs more heat or not. I am not convinced, I ran REALLY hot in both the Nova and Stormcrow when running laser boats.
The cLRM's will be a real issue at lower Elo's LRM60+TAG on my stormcrow with plenty of armor.and 107kph (with speed tweak).
On the other hand a single raven on the enemy team with ECM turned the tide in one drop as they could get LRM's onto us, but we could not reliably return fire.
