I actually did better and did more damage in my IS mechs. Play it first, then form your opinion.

More damage is understandable, since the weapons spread their damage more. That means you'll have to deal more damage to get the kill compared to the types of weapons the IS have.

So, damage is a pretty bad indication for being OP, as the OP suggests.

It's not completely one sided. I'm sure the meta IS mechs will be competitive. But then people were only getting the hang of their clan mechs during the PTR. I'm sure they'll hammer out a new meta once the Clan mechs release.

I didn't have problems with my IS mechs during the PTR. Only on my Ember, but I suck on lights. However that's kind negated by the fact most matches had maybe 3 or 4 IS mechs on either side. So people were more gunning for the Daishis and Timber Wolves.

I thought the Clans spread damage more, and the issue was IS mechs are too FLD? So it doesn't make sense for his IS mechs to require more damage per kill?

The IS requires less damage than the weapons that Clans have available to them, Gauss and ERPPC aside.

Was it not clear? Guess I'll change a couple words.

no, it really wasn't. Your post seems to be saying that the poster was scoring more damage because Clan Weapons spread more...... but he said he did more damage with IS Mechs.

Hmm...it seems I misread it. Well, depending on his loadout, it could be due to the bursts. Those were hard to all hit on a moving target compared to the IS ACs.

Aside from that, simply being more familiar with the loadout.

Happens. Wasn't trying to call you out, but figured either you misread it, or took one too many snakes to the melon! :)

So I have seen a couple of vids of the recent test servers and those of us that paid for IS mechs seem to have gotten royally screwed !

that rate there is the problem the vids you watch are of good players wrecking less experienced players..... people are not going to put up vidoes of them sucking are they.

play for your self tomorrow and then say something

There's a difference between 'OP' and 'Better'.

Can someone with a big clan pack please tell me which IS mechs are 'better' than their relative weight Clan mechs, and how?

Atlas was "better" IMO than a Direwolf, because it has the ability to outmaneuver it. DW is "better" because: GUNS.

Cataphract is "better" than my Summoner because you can downgrade engine and unneeded DHS and free up far more tons of weaponry.

All IS Lights are "better" because they can go a lot faster.

I feel the big 3 55 tonner are all "better" than the Stormcrow because of better agility and hitboxes. (Nova on the other hand I think can eat any 50 tommers IS Mech)

cannot comment on Twolf or Warhawk, yet.

I was making far more money on the PTR in far more fun (and faster) matches than I have EVER made on live. Quite hilarious how not desperately trying to save your precious kdr makes you better at the game and ultimately wind up getting more exp/cb.

I should note that I was making more BEFORE the bonuses from my mech. If I activate my premium time on live I *MIGHT*be able to get the same amount, from a very good match, as what I was making on average from the test server. Even from a loss.
