I wonder if MicroSoft ever thought about this sort of reaction, or were they too big to give a crap figuring on quantity to the masses.
I look at Mechwarrior games like Star Trek movies. Sure you will not get everyone in the world to watch them, but the fan base is big enough to guarantee sales at a certain level.

(I wonder if there's going to be some mechanic to account for numerical imbalance, or we're just going to take it up the #%! like in canon?)
I'm not saying that Liao should be equal to the other Houses in people, but I AM saying that they should fall within a certain percentage of the other Houses for in-game population.
As for Mercs, I think the benchmark should be adjusted Lance for Lance, but there should be an option for a unit to opt out once it reaches a certain number; say you have a Merc Corps that only wants 12 people in it, they should be able to go Lance for Lance, building up along with everyone else, until they reach 12 members, and then they're removed from that scale, and can not begin building up again until that benchmark is released, some time down the road. I'm looking at placing a maximum of 360 folks in AU, giving us 9 full Battalions of 36 each plus a Headquarters Lance per Battalion, because that's the Fanon strength we were sitting at in 3050.

And they have a controller for mech fans in the works. Not just a gaming controller a Mech controller

$1MM is a hell of a lot of money, except that I know they already spent a fair chunk of that on those CG trailers in 2009.

1 million is not nearly enough to fund such a venture. While this is a great number to see, it is a small drop in the bucket in the big scheme of things.

I update every week or two. However the recent midwest storm has prevented me from doing some updated statistics before I leave to go camping for a week. When I get back I will run all the numbers again.

Oh yes these stats are updated once a week or so. I was hoping to update this week, but alas I JUST got power restored (since Friday afternoon, so 4+ days with no power) and as a result I am leaving for my camping trip/vacation ASAP. If I don't go tonight, I will do a full update. If I do, then Sunday evening I will drop new statistics.
While I am on vacation I will be working (ha ironic I know) on a new idea of how to provide this data and make it readily available whenever anyone pleases. OSD has a few things in the works and hopes to initiate phase II by August 7th.
