**** well there is ur issue right there dude that is a very weak CPU for gaming and MWO uses alot of cpu resources i was previously running a i7 2600k at 4.8Ghz and that still could not handle MWO on very high

LOL! I run a 2500K at 4.2GHz along with a 660TI and have no problem enjoying Full HD at very high, and in 3D!

Yeah.... this game.

My rig:
AMD FX8350 @ 4.2ghz
GTX770 4GB SLI
16GB Ram

Average fps is about 40 on Ultra settings @ 1080p. Dont feel bad. Its hard on the computer to play this game I guess.

Average fps don't count, It's the min fps that kill's the fun :D

Do you use a user.cfg to tell MWO only to use the even numberd Cores ?

You are correct. There is absolutely no detriment to performance from running anything of that speed in a PCIE 2.0 slot. I'm not sure any card can saturate the PCIE 2.0 bus right now, but even if there are such cards, the 760 or 770 should not have problems.

As for your CPU, yeah it's dated, but just overclock the damn thing. It'll be good enough for now. If your cooling isn't great, just get a Hyper212 Evo for like $30.

this ^, i currently run a 660ti with all settings on very high except particles and shadows on high and medium respectively for 48-56 fps avg... give that cpu a 400mhz OC should be np!

Cooling equipment is good (H100i), but my temps are higher than I'd currently like (about 41°C)). Have to examine the air path in my case (Corsair 650D) and test out a few things first. That's a different issue in itself.

Ended up ordering a GTX 760 4GB card to replace my 550 Ti, also got two new monitors to replace my current aging two, to fully take advantage of the card. Thanks for the advice everyone.

fyi that 760 with 4gb has no benefit over the 760 with 2gb unless you are runing a pair in sli. which of course would have no benefit either as MWO doesnt utilize sli grrrrrrrr fail on PGI's part thus far

I always say don't build an MWO computer; build a gaming computer. SLI and Crossfire are proven, mature techs, and two 760 4GB cards will really kick ass, even in multimonitor situations.

Hey guys,

Just thought I'd leave some post-upgrade feedback.

MWO is now running sexy at 55 avg FPS (about 25-30 before) at "Very High" system specs. New 1080p monitors, the GTX760, and the clans combined are blowing me away. Even popped on DX11 to use some of the available antialiasing in it. Thanks for all your suggestions.

Wait a minute, I could have sworn you weren't wearing that clanner avatar when you were actually asking for help.

Quick someone, take his computer! He used us to help equip the invasion! Damn treacherous Jade Falcons :)

I can't really answer seeing as my performance has improved so much already because of the 760. My first play on it was after the clan patch.

What AA you using, now, and what's your card's memory load? (How many 4GB cards do we have reporting on?)
