If PGI had completed CW first and we were fighting over objectives that meant something, when clans arrived the rage and quit would have been horrendous if they were not perfectly balanced versus IS,
As it stands now, with clans being fielded before CW, any balance issues can be resolved before they "invade" the CW. Also, without CW in place, they can spread out the clan releases to general public. If CW was in place, all clan mechs would have needed to be released all at once in order to have am invading clan force.

Nonsense
1) There always have been and always will be imbalances and perceived imbalances with any competitive online fps.
2) 2 for each weight class is plenty to start off with. In fact 1 from each weight class is the "minimum viable product" (see what I did there?) to start off with. The "need all clan mechs for CW" statement would be the same as someone else saying that all IS mechs would have to be in play as a critical requirement for CW.
Do you really think that just because they release Community Warfare (if it happens) that all mechs will be released and they will suddenly cease releasing them?

The dip in numbers has as much to do with a lot of us playing for getting up on 2 years now as much as it has to do with the actual state of the game- sure, more content = less player burnout, but it is what it is.
Moving forward, I think that there were probably just as many players out there laying in wait for the Clans than for community warfare, so that will help the player base gain momentum (despite it being summer, which is a classic time for MMOs to have population lulls) and community warfare will be happening sooner than you think, given that in a minimal sense just having occasional tournaments is at least a start...and the community itself can provide much of this in the meantime while PGI sorts out what official CW will look like. (There are a couple of third party leagues that try to do exactly what people are talking about for community warfare- including rumors of NetBT coming back after all this time.)

It's called FLD + Perfect Convergence, then add in JJ's for good measure and you'll see why clans blows.
Found it funny that some clanners were pop-tarting - only to die when people closed in on them. Somebody forgot to tell them their weapons are dot I guess. Warhawk was no threat - it spent more time shutdown then actually fighting - and dire wolf which is dangerous but has an easily to hit ct - thanks to the longer dot weapons it uses.

Yup. Piranha needs to put out an announcement: STFU and buy the VTR-DS.

If someone tries to make an exact copy of the DS, they are going to have a bad time.
However, when I see a DS, I am not worried about it, because while my CGR/PPC Timberwolf has less armor and runs hotter, it can afford to lose a torso, and it can beat feet if it needs to.

I agree, 2 for each weight class is minimum. And that takes 4 months to be released. IF CW was in place they'd have to release all 8 mechs at the same time, which does not jiv with the biz plan. Cause you wouldn't have an invasion with only 1 or 2 mech chassis.
As for balance, if we were fighting for a year over territory and then clans hit and were totally OP, don't you think the vested players would be pissed?

i dont have a alt account. this is me and my account. i dont post very often. but when i feel strongly about something i come out and post about it.
KASMAI , i totaly hear you . its about fun . but its not just about the game its also the other players that you play with that also makes it fun. up to this point the fun i have been having has balenced out the problems with the game. but as time goes on . more and more people that i/we play with are leaveing. this balence is getting unbalenced . i wont more from the game.
JAVIN , im with you mate . inner spire all the way. but pgi are still balencing the weapons after all this time. in come the clans . compaired by whats happened so far . these new clan stuff will take them years to rebalence."cooler mechs that are faster, better armed,, longer ranged, with better heat dispersal" . where does that leave us , join the clans or alway play second fiddle to clans on the battlefield
DRACOL, "As it stands now, with clans being fielded before CW, any balance issues can be resolved before they "invade" the CW." that makes a lot of sence. but on the other hand , they could do all the balencing on test severs and community warfare can/could happen without the clans. but how may time have we seen pgi release a patch that breaks something.with the release of the clan stuff . they may as well through all the balencing that they have done this past year or so out the window and start again. for my mind things have been balenced before.yet there is/was and will always be those that say things are op and as such pgi will always be balenceing stuff.
PYGAR , acording to my large ingame friends list . this is not a summer thing. it has been a constent decrease in numbers over time . maybe acording to the accountents this isnt a problem coz new players are joining the game. but it has been my opinion that it will always be the hardcore players that keep game communitys alive and without these dedicated player base make a game bland.

This is my only account. i have considered a second account to access the 25mill cred bonus to play other mechs that would cost me too much to grind out other wise.
It is derived from my first and last name. The name i gave to my first optimized formula as a scientist and a popular herb
Main is for me a generic term for primary account or avatar. The one you play the most with. I believe its mostly a MMO term due to the large number of alternative characters.
I questioned if the OP was simply an alt account bashing PGI for the n'th time. some people have an ax to grind. The low post count and a reference to closed beta with a relatively new account said to me wait a minute is this guy for real.
Your points are valid. i agree with most of them. i meant no offense, nor was i baiting.
