What 'unending war'?
Who's 'children' return?
What 'ancestral home'?
What 'message'?
None of this has anything to do with MWO. Not one part of the above is in any way within the scope of the game, nor is there any context within the game for these statements.
All of this has to do with the lore, and Community Warfare, both of which the devs of this game have placed as unimportant to MWO. That the introduction of Clan equipment took a far higher priority than any interest in introducing the -Clans- into MWO is proof of this, as is the still-undeveloped Community Warfare that -might- have given this context in even an incomplete form. Instead, the Clan -tools- are being put in ahead of the Clans that gave them purpose, despite clear statements that the Clan equipment would not be introduced before Community Warfare was up and running to give them a reason for being in the game.
Right now, this video has almost nothing to do with the game, which is just a series of arena-style deathmatches. No lore, no mission objectives beyond smashing the other side (turrets were put in to make sure anything else was removed from strategic consideration), and no 'war'.
It's rather hypocritical of the Devs to make this video when they have placed the very core of it as a last priority or no priority in their game, and stick a 'MWO' label on it as though anyone viewing it could expect what it advertises to be in the game if they were to join.

To give them credit, they backed up the clock, which allows them to more easily stick to lore. They bought themselves another half year or so.

"Placed as unimportant"? I was actually enjoying the read until you said that.

As always I want the game to be as successful as possible and it pains me to notice missteps or opportunities not taken. I'm not claiming I know more than you, but from my perspective as all my years as a gamer I've observed a lot of successful games. I throw money at those games like it's my eletric bill.
The community videos are outstanding nod to http://mwomercs.com/...209971-wauweli/
Just giving #feedback for the record I love Celestials work his videos are great. As a fan of BT I just wanted more out if this one.

Hard truths are rarely enjoyable.
Show me one place inside the game itself where the devs have placed explanations on what the Successor States are, what each is doing, and what war is going on? And, of course, why anyone who has only been playing MWO would be encouraged to care in the least about what this video is about?
The fact is that Community Warfare was one of the primary foundations of MWO, and the game we are playing now was always supposed to be a place-holder until that part of the game got up and running, upon which the game would be declared officially ready for launch. About a year after this, the Clans -might- be introduced, depending on how the situation within Community Warfare was progressing.
Instead, MWO was launched without CW, the Clans were pushed into the game to appease marketing interests, and CW remains unimplemented and almost completely undeveloped. The very opposite of what was declared at the beginning. How can anyone believe the Devs consider CW and the lore upon which this video relies for it's impact and content in any way important when both have been relegated to the bottom priority for work and resources, or given none at all, since the very start of open Beta?
Actions speak louder than any words. The Dev's actions have been that having mechs smash each other in pointless arena deathmatch fighting is the most important thing to them, followed by having the title of 'Released' on their game, followed by the introduction of Clan tools, followed by selling more premium mechs, and last of all the continuous promise that CW is coming 'soon'. Lore is behind that, with the only part of that even remotely connected to the game being the discontinued news posts that once were put in the Forums (but never in the actual game players experienced).
Right now, this video has zero relevance to the game players are playing. Might as well have just put more stills of the Clan omimechs standing around, as that had more to do with MWO than this did.

Umm so how many months in the "lore" did the Clans and Inner Sphere fight side by side? Are they going to reset the clock when Community Warfare gets installed? I don't see them coming out with anything for CW until beginning of next year. Remember, "Fall" lasts until late December..
