I took out the CN9-A last night to beat up on some clanners. The SRM damage was back to destructive levels again. Had a lot of fun doing it (when I could get a match -- was easeer on the PTS)

Anyone else run some big SRMs on their IS mechs last night?

I took my DDC out last night and it felt significantly improved. Also like the addition of half ton ammo, so i could add a few more as I was running out.

That's cute. Let's see how you like the taste of my 1.5 ton SRM6.

My Wolverine with 3x ASRM6s and 3x MLs has been annihilating Clanners left and right, and my D-DC with 2x MLs, AC20, and 3x ASRM6s has been doing the same.

Think I will change my Shawk-2D2 to try them out, probably go with 3x srm4, 1x srm2, 2x mls, and a uac5.

Looking forward to breaking this beast out again.

Let's drive the Clanners back to whatever rock they crawled out from under.

Forgot about my Stalker. 6x ML, 4x ASRM6, many dead clanners (including toe-to-toe with a Dire Wolf and coming out not just alive but without any armor breaches).

On the topic of srm. Is Artemis worth it?

I generally have run srm2 and srm4 without.

I typically run Artemis, but for a different reason. It decreases the lock time for SSRMs.

I haven't tested artemis vs not in a while, but I could launch 3x A-SRM6s at pretty far range and still hit the target. I guess I could try removing it and see.

Depends if you're using it as your primary weapon system or as a: back up/ finisher/ cool down weapon /filler. If its your primary source of damage then I would always suggest artemis, if its any of the other its optional and depends on what tonnage you have left.

I also believe it is basically pointless to artemis SRM2s and most of the time also SRM4s. Ive done testing on artemis SRM4s vs regular SRM6s and the SRM6 is better than the ASRM4 for less tonnage. The only downside is worse ammo consumption.

If I'm not mistaken artemis reduces the spread of SRMs by 30%.

What has been changed recently is that the radius of SRM spread is now dependent on the launcher.

-------------W/O Arty-----------------W/ arty
SRM2------4.8m----------------------3.36m
SRM4------5.2m----------------------3.64m
SRM6------5.7m----------------------3.99m

How that translates into in game effectiveness is subjective and IMHO dependent on the build. My 3xSRM4 Griffin does just fine but the SRMs are a really just secondary weapons so I rather not invest 3 tons into artemis. If I was going 3xSRM6 as the main weapons, artemis would be worth it.

Timberwolf S jumps, carries a pair of ER PPCs and if/when you manage to close you eat 24 SRMs to the face. Die IS!
