Thanks folks!

I like those 1-day chunks of premium time, and I'm really happy to pick up a free mechbay.

I really enjoyed being able to experiment on the test server when you opened it up during Clan-patch-pocalypse on Tuesday. We made it through, the internet didn't break, and I got to fiddle around with IS mechs I don't own yet, but plan to.

How can so many people be pleased with this? It's one day of premium time and one mech bay. It's a slap in the face. The mech bay and premium time would cost you about $3 at worst. For most of us who don't buy 1250 MC's at a time or one day of premium time at a time it would be under $2. It's not costing them anything. Sure that's one less bay and day of premium time you would have to buy but it costs them nothing.

But it's the thought that counts, right? By all means, teach your children it's the thought that counts, but these guys are living off our backs broken promise and broken promise. How many times can they screw up and not be ready to meet their own timelines? Yeah it's a free game to play, but these people aren't working out of their basement or Mom and Dad's garage.

We're dealing with a developer whose usual approach is to treat its customers with disdain. When they do something customer-friendly like this - which they didn't need* to do - it is probably best that we be thankful and encourage them.

* Sure, compensating inconvenienced customers is something most customer-friendly businesses would feel they need to do. However, PGI isn't one of those businesses. A year ago, it would have been more usual for PGI to just make a thinly veiled criticism via Twitter about ''customers on the island'' and provide no compensation at all.

It's good that they're being a little more generous these days. Perhaps they really are seeing the light about how to create a sustainable business.

Read the post again... you'll get it whether you logged in or not on Tuesday, just login before Friday 1pm PDT...

It is? I think it's a nice gesture they didn't need to make. So what, they had some issue with the big patch implementation? To tell the truth it's not a big deal, and I kinda expected something like that anyway. It would be something else, if the had said: sorry that there is no CW yet, here you've got 1 day premium and a mech bay as apology. And it's also not like the system was down for several days.

So I haven't played for a while now but saw news about promo and I logged in like 11 hours ago + now and still nothing. Was I too late for a free gift or smth? I should be ok, checked with time converter.

I hope this move to free stuff will continue. I think you have given away 2 mech and 4 or 5 bays total.

I hope you give away more silly things like make the urban mech a mech you win.

Then make the urban mechs TERRIABLE. All fixed weapons. one big gun and minimal vertical yaw but exceptional torso twist. They would be funny and amusing but more a reward for poor playing. A boobieprize. This would also encourage new players as they get free mechs that are silly. Terriable but fun.
