You fire at a target. They break LOS. So what's guiding the missiles? You have no teammate, no TAG, no NARC, and no UAV. ...we're using cover now, by breaking LOS with the radar system on your mech that is also responsible for guiding missiles. Don't like it? Go complain to a group of scientists that study electromagnetic theory and learn the errors of your ways.

Easy: LRM guidance operates on the same utter nonsense science that lets you have a missile warning even though there is no way your sensors can track the telemetry of a salvo launched beyond your LOS/radar-range behind intervening geography the second it leaves the tubes.

You want to argue game-mechanics, that's fine. As I said earlier, I haven't played enough LRMs since the patch to weigh-in on whether the new module is too much or not. But there's plenty of hokey-science in this game to go around. So let's just leave it out.

Awe, someone doesn't want to spend GXP and cbills for a module?

Target Deprivation Module is way too strong. One of the reasons is that it totally nullifies the Advanced Target Decay. Modules should be useful, but one module gives once again superior advantage over the others. It's seismic all over again. While one can adapt (basically by equipping it as mandatory module like seismic back in the day), it is still bad balance none the less.

Radar Deprivation is OP and needs a nerf. It should only remove the base decay time, while leaving the [Adv] Target Decay module its bonus time.

This would be my suggestion as well.

However, it is not P2W. Look up the definition before you use a word and you might not make such basic mistakes. RD is available via GXP/C-bills, just like very other module in the game.

Just so you know, that's on Russ' nerf list when they get around to pilot trees/modules. I'd be careful what ya wish for because it might get changed down to something like 2 seconds as tier 2 and lobbying for that might backfire.

This is really a nerf for anyone running LRMs without all of the extra equipment and without teammates doing dedicated spotting. So casual LRM users will have it a little harder. But it doesn't make the unusable.

You need to get rid of that bullshit right off! Tone it down, at least, so it's not an automatic loss of lock. It's horse ****, it's P2W garbage, and I'm about little time from stopping on this game.

its not really p2w since you can buy it with cbills.

So a module that's only ability is to allow you not to be hit by auto-aim munitions while no enemy is currently targeting you is OP?

That's a spicy meatball.

No. The BS that needed to stop was people loading up on advanced target decay and continuing to hit targets for an absurd amount of time after they have already broken LOS.
An absurd amount of time? 3.25 seconds, after having to achieve the lock in the first place, is absurd?

Quote

You fire at a target. They break LOS. So what's guiding the missiles? You have no teammate, no TAG, no NARC, and no UAV.
It's not about the guidance, it's about the idea that you as the pilot have anticipated where your DFMs need to hit, and you keep going. It's about "purchasing" experience, about moving from Green to Regular to Veteran to Elite, with Target Decay being at the Regular and Veteran levels.

Quote

"Use cover noob."
I don't have a problem with people using cover, I use it myself. However, I do have a problem with the experience I've built up in the game to purchase the skill and modules -5000 XP I believe it was- plus paying 12,000,000 C-Bills for both Basic and Advanced Target Decay- taken away entirely by this radar deprivation crap. Don't take it away entirely, make it a penalty counter, not an invisibility counter.

Is THAT better, sweet heart? :) I was so angry when I wrote that post, unreasonably so, and I purposefully did not take time to cool down, so my ardor would be known. The module is so OP it's stupid, and it's just like ECM; rather than applying a penalty for lock-ons, or in this case the radar deprivation module being used to completely remove a lock when, under ECM a target takes several LONG seconds to lock up already, and then it's just lost, just like that (snaps fingers), is completely ludicrous, it is entirely unfair, and I say again that either modules need to be gone, in their entirety, or they need to be made fair. It's pretty obvious to me that the PGI guys have never designed a pen and paper RPG, where balance is absolutely paramount, and you can't build something, such as a spell or weapon or action that CANNOT be countered, and vice-versa you cannot build something that completely counters, either. Maybe in the early early days long ago, but not now. if it's not fair, how do you expect people to stick around? if people have taken the time and put in the work to earn something, such as target decay, and it's so easily countered by ECM and radar deprivation, how do you expect anyone but the stupid-ass twitch gamers to stay with this game?

you for being

I think you

will find that

accepting that this

that the discussion was bad and is

now over

and just posting

pretty pictures

will be the easiest thing here

Yes, that is better! Sadly it is to late, as the thread already found its way into K-town.

As I always say: Anger is a bad advisor.

That you didn't allow yourself to calm down did show. Please try to remember it for the future and cool your head before attempt such a thread again. :)
