I loved the Thor from MW4, for 3 reasons. 1, it can pack a punch. 2, it can do a crapload of torso rotation. 3, it's fast, which means it CAN, won't always, dodge gauss rounds, PPC, stuff like that.

Paper and pen, I loved both the Exterminator and Firestarter. Both great for ambushes.
MechCommander Gold: Bushwhacker, a great all around mech.
Mechwarrior games: the Thor and Loki. Love that Clan tech.

Phoenix Hawk Land-Air-Mech from the TRO 3025 Technical Readout. Scout as a 'mech then fly back to your own lines. If the opposing forces have poor or no air support you can even do strafing runs for a short time.
